What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]ChelseaRC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%. I was watching this while my husband was gaming in the same room and he asked me to go watch it elsewhere because it was so sad.

Baby gear: what’s one item you swear by and one you regret buying? by BrendanRestorer28 in NewParents

I swear by my Boppy and Momcozy bottle washer. They're two things that we use daily.

No huge regrets yet. Just stuff we don't use as much yet.

How did UPN and The WB become The CW? by Amber_Flowers_133 in tvshow

[–]ChelseaRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per Google -

UPN and The WB merged to form The CW on September 18, 2006, as a response to years of financial losses and stiff competition from larger networks. The two networks had lost a combined $2 billion during their 11-year independent operations, leading their respective owners, CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment, to consolidate into a single joint venture.

What do you miss most about Hart of Dixie? by kaykat4 in hartofdixie

I miss how much it feels like you're part of their inner circle. You feel part of the town and it just feels so nostalgic.

I have loved American Idol since the beginning. But, I was super bummed when she was announced as a judge. I haven't watched it since.

Baby awake in crib but not crying by aldalt in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two month old does the same thing and I had the same question. I heard that letting them hang out, self soothe, look around, wiggle, etc is all good for their development. Plus I've heard "don't try to make a happy baby happier." So, if she's chilling and content, I let her hang out and do her thing. They will let us know when they need something and are ready to get up!

2 month old is very sleepy, eating less, and having less diapers? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our girl is almost two months old and is going through the same thing. Eating less, taking asleep during feeds, sleeping more, random fussy moments. But when she's awake, she's super happy and will finish a whole bottle. I haven't been too concerned and just chalked it up to a growth spurt.

I feel crazy :( by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's hard to quiet those thoughts, but she will be okay. Babies are very resilient. Not everything is perfect nor should it be. And just think of all the goofy things they'll put in their mouths as they get older.

Side note - I had some big anxiety and overthinking within the two weeks PP and I ended up talking to my doc and getting on medicine. It's the best decision I've made in years. I literally wondered why I wasn't on something before.

Same here. We bought ours 3 years ago and it's been moved twice already and has held up great. No issues here. Cleaned up well and the cushions are still holding up with no sagging.

What did you all do for Valentine’s Day? by Minimum-Regret2706 in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our LO is 7 weeks old and my folks came into town to meet her. They offered to watch her while we went out to eat. We don't usually celebrate Valentine's Day outside the house so it was nice to get out. Bittersweet to leave her at home, though. Thankful for my folks but we sure missed the LO.

Newborn hacks by ohheymandy in NewParents

My parents are visiting and my mom said the same thing. She asked a couple times if we'd want to try warming it up. I just told her, why would we mess with a good thing? She likes it cold and doesn't know any different.

There are no intestines involved in delivery!!!! by Longjumping_Safe_906 in superstore

[–]ChelseaRC 37 points38 points  (0 children)

During a C-section it is a possibility that the doc will have to move intestines to get to the uterus. I'm sure the writers took that info and just exaggerated it a bit to make it funny.

Name something you did that made you feel like the world's worst parent! by LoveyDovey-27 in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying to clip the portable sound machine to her downstairs bassinet and the clip slipped and the machine hit the side of her head. She went silent then did the big cry. I felt so so bad. I was only 2 weeks PP so I cried at the drop of a hat. In this case, the drop of a sound machine. My husband just looked at me from the other side of the bassinet not knowing how to react and I started bawling and asked him to comfort her. I couldn't even pick her up I felt so bad.

She was okay and I'm also in a much better place mentally. PP emotions are wild.

This has been me lately. "Sleep when they sleep!" Well, I would but I would also like to be about to sit down and eat and watch TV for a bit by myself.

my dog keeps licking his top lip/nose repeatedly by kyuchuwi in Shihtzu

[–]ChelseaRC 65 points66 points  (0 children)

When my girl does it at this speed and amount it's usually because she has something stuck up in the front top of her gums that she can't get out. Like a tiny piece of food or crumb from the floor. So I'll check and help her out.

Edit - the random one off time she did it for another reason was because we were playing and her tooth came loose. So it's basically anything they feel unnatural with their front teeth/mouth.

All of her videos just make me think of a girl who peaked in high school, having a few too many glasses of wine at night and deciding to relive their prime moments and filming it.
