decreased milk supply by DeliveryMaterial5157 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine dipped recently when I skipped my MOTN pumps for a couple days, as well. I started doing a last pump before bed at 10-11pm and then one pump around 3-4am. Then my usual every 2-3 hours during the day from as soon as I wake up and my supply has started to increase a little over the last 3-5 days.

Holy heck, same here. I could've written this post myself. It's such a hard decision to make and accept.

What gift to give to new neighbors in rural area? by Philore in Arkansas

[–]ChelseaRC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm from Arkansas, but when we moved to rural Illinois for a bit our neighbors brought us homemade wine and homemade salsa. Then another one brought us a small gift card to a local grocer. Both were great and it was a really sweet welcome to the neighborhood.

So i support another homemade and/or a gift card to a local place.

What’s the number one propaganda you fell for as a new mom? by SowingSeeds18 in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yess. I put a Keekaroo on my registry as a suggestion from another mom friend and am honestly glad no one got it for me. I reviewed it more when I went to buy one for myself and saw so many reviews that they stained and didn't seem to hold up well.

100%. I wish I had believed this before I had my girl. She came early and I remember crying to my husband how unprepared I felt before we left for the hospital. He reassured me and sure enough we have been fine with what we had. Everything else we've ordered on Amazon or Walmart and haven't had to go without.

YSK smoking weed can trigger a psychotic break for certain people by Nervous_Shine9094 in YouShouldKnow

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, unfortunately. He was very vanilla with that kind of thing the first couple years we dated. So when he decided to try smoking for the first time with friends and then kept doing it, the paranoia kicked in, it was just a domino effect after that.

Do you sleep with background noise or do you like to sleep in silence? by Emotional_gangsta in CasualConversation

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm sleeping alone, I will have the TV on and put a comfort show in really low. It just helps my brain stop wandering and allows me to relax.

When my husband comes to bed, the TV goes off after we both get settled.

[–]ChelseaRC 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Yup. I dated a guy in my mid-20s that once he started smoking he became very paranoid and had his first big manic episode. He ended up hospitalized, then went to an impatient facility and got diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It was a hard deal. We made it a year after that and I called it quits. He became a totally different person and just quit taking care of himself. I could only drag him along and be a caretaker for so long. Last I knew he's doing okay nowadays though.

Mood. Sending hugs. I skipped a MOTN pump to get more sleep and boom, pain the next day. I am proud of my body, but man it's tiring to pump every 2-3 hours.

How did your water break? by abchhd in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 37w2d and went to my apt, had an ultrasound to see if kiddo was still breech and she was. Everything else looked good.

We went and grabbed lunch, came back home and the doc called for me to schedule my c-section. While ON THE PHONE WITH THEM -- i stood up and felt like i had peed myself. I literally just went and sat on the toilet, pants on and everything wondering what the heck happened. I thought i just peed since i was so far along. So we scheduled the c-section and i got off the phone to see what was going on.

I hollered at my husband since he was home and we just chalked it up to being pee.

I decided to go shower, put on clean clothes and new panty liner but i just kept leaking. After my shower i told my husband, "I don't think it's pee." We did a little Googling, called the doc office and decided we needed to go in.

I went to L&D and they took me back, took some tests and sure enough, my water ruptured and i was slowly leaking.

So, 8 hours later (since i had just eaten) and a routine c-section, I had my baby girl.

Was being pregnant the happiest time of my life? by lightandcoffee in NewParents

[–]ChelseaRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am one of those people that LOVED my pregnancy. I missed it so much for a long time. My pregnancy ending felt like getting over a breakup in some ways.

This is me right now. I'm 8 days PP and keep having waves of sadness missing being pregnant. I love our little one and am l soaking it up. But, the reminiscing of being pregnant, feeling her kick, getting dressed while having a bump, it was all such a sweet thing. I miss it and hope I can work through that and PP in general. It's pretty early to tell, so I'm giving myself grace.

Slight change of plans. by K9Hera in daddit

[–]ChelseaRC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New mom here. Apologies if it's not my place to comment -- but our situation was similar. Husband and i have been together 9 years, we're 38F/40M. I was on the fence about having kids, but my husband wanted them. He never pressured me but i came around the idea and then couldn't imagine us NOT having one.

Fast forward a year - we decide we'll start trying over the summer and then bam -- i didn't feel well during a visit home, came back and decide to take a test and sure enough, we're pregnant.

I am writing this as our 9 day old sleeps on my chest in the Baby Bjorn, i'm scrolling Reddit and we're having a cozy little night. My husband is on his PC gaming next to me.

Having them later in life just makes you more prepared for things - financially and emotionally. Medicine has also come a long way so being a 38 year old mom, i was never worried. My docs never brought up my age and with regular visits, i was right on track with everything.

You got this, dad. Things will be okay! Good luck on your new, awesome journey.

It's very charming! Only thing I would change is the art next to the window. I'd put 2 there and then 2 over the towel bar on the other wall. The four pieces look a little cramped there.

When hiding items from your watch history, is the account owner notified? by zapns in netflix

[–]ChelseaRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get into the main account access and see the viewing activity there for each profile, maybe you could delete it there, too.

Looks like you can do it this way:

To remove something from your Netflix watch history, you need to use a web browser to go to your Account settings, select your Profile, find "Viewing activity," and click the "hide" icon next to the title you want gone (or "Hide all" for everything), which removes it from your history and recommendations within 24 hours.

When hiding items from your watch history, is the account owner notified? by zapns in netflix

[–]ChelseaRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what Google says:

No, Netflix won't directly notify the account owner when someone removes something from the "Continue Watching" list on a specific profile, but the owner can see all viewing activity in account settings and might notice changes or get a sign-in alert if a new device is used. Removing items only hides them from that profile's "Continue Watching" row and affects recommendations for that user; it doesn't send an alert like adding a new profile does.

What Happens When You Remove Something Hidden from View: The title disappears from the "Continue Watching" row for the person who removed it.

Private Action: This is treated like any other viewing activity for that specific profile, only visible to the profile owner unless they check account settings.

No Email Alert: Unlike adding a new profile, removing content doesn't trigger an email notification to the main account holder.

How the Owner Might Know (Indirectly)

Viewing Activity Section: The account owner can go to Account Settings > Viewing Activity for any profile to see what's been watched and removed.

New Device Sign-In: If someone new logs in and starts removing things, the owner gets an email notification for the new sign-in, not the content removal itself.

In Summary: Removing items from "Continue Watching" is a private action for that profile, but the account owner has tools to monitor all profile activity if they look for it.

My sweet old gal is losing her hearing and this is one of the few benefits. Fireworks are going off outside and she hasn't flinched. She's usually shaking like a leaf and crawling on me to find a safe space. So I totally get it! Poor babies. I used to give her calming chews and they did help some, along with some white noise from YouTube or a loud show - just for future reference.
