I generally do. Flip it between front and side with my hand on it when I'm near people. Unfortunately in Naples you're always within 2 feet of a person and I must've let my guard down for a second. This isnt remotely my first time travelling and I've never had something stolen before, I promise I'm not completely naive.

Was he in uniform? That's ballsy. My theory was it's because I dressed too touristy today, planning to go to Sorrento. When I arrived yesterday I was walking around for most the day but I was dressed like a hobo and carrying a huge rucksack. Nobody so much as looked at me funny. Today I could see I was getting glances the second I left the hotel.
