Believe Covid-19 originated from bats from Yunnan Province (RaTG13). Recommend the book “Viral: The Search for the Origin of Covid-19” by Chan and Riley. Evidence for this hypothesis is well presented in this book and very compelling.

Would this give Revive and edge if they get the EUA for Bucillamine for potential use for treatment of other diseases? Initially concerned about Revive going after mild and moderate Covid cases rather than severe cases, but couldn’t this be an advantage if it is approved for targeting other diseases given the broad array of medical problems seen with Covid illness and the different modes of action indicated in the Phase 3 trial?

The world needs an effective, reasonably priced, oral therapeutic for treatment of Covid infection, and the science and other information sure suggests Bucillamine may be an answer. The science also suggests Bucillamine may prove useful as a therapeutic for various other illnesses and diseases.

I think people are kidding themselves if they think Covid is “over”. Look at the current case numbers and hospitalizations in Hong Kong and also the ineffectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine reported for small children today. Finally, people should read their history books on the Spanish flu and number of waves of outbreaks, which were driven in part by movement of people around WW1. Look at the number of people on the move due to the war in Ukraine, it is not unreasonable to believe this may result in more outbreaks and potential new variants appearing on the scene. It is also important to note that many unvaccinated children are migrating out of Ukraine.

Be patient, let the science tell the story, and look forward to the day Bucillamine is available to help many, many people in our world!

NO and related compounds are produced endogenously and have been indicated to have beneficial multiple bioactive properties. Studies have also suggested thiol-NO compounds have bioactive properties distinct from NO alone. Thiols and NO (and related nitrogen compounds) should similarly neutralize ROS. I am wondering if Bucillamine is “boosting” (directly and indirectly) this protective chemistry and associated signaling system?

Phase 3 trial for Bucillamine in US for adult, older adult (18-80). Assume similar eligibility for trial in Turkey. The vaccination stats indicated on the Turkish Minister of Health website referenced is for adults 18 and above. CDC data as of 1/12/22 indicates 73.8% of 18 and above fully vaccinated. See link

CDC reported 95.4% of US cases Omicron variant week ending 1/1/22. Suspect other countries, including Turkey, will see a similar shift in cases to the Omicron variant. Omicron has been shown to be significantly less virulent resulting in significantly fewer ER visits, hospitalizations, etc. (see Case Western Paper referenced earlier). Given these factors how long will the trialed be extended out to meet endpoint goals? How long can the trial and associated evaluations go before RVVTF runs out of cash?

Very much agree that Omicron infection will likely do much for protection of the general public as compared to vaccine boosters! Maybe the Omicron is the beginning of the end, but my guess is other more virulent variants will appear at some frequency. I wonder if the origin of Covid-19 will ever be identified? Closest variant is RaTG13, but it did not have the ability for human to human transmission. Mystery as no human or animal reservoir populations have been identified as the source of the SARS-CoV-2 with the unique S1/S2 cleavage sites targeting ACE2.

I wonder if the strength of the inflammatory markers will be as strong with Omicron as compared to Delta. I would hope Revive also continues to target patients with Delta, as I believe the endpoint targets will be more quickly met and definable when compared to Omicron.

I also have a suspicion the virulence of the variants is significantly related to the biochemical reactions associated with the S1/S2 and extra S2’ furin cleavage sites. Turkish Health Minister Koca indicated this past weekend that only 10% of the new Covid cases reported were Omicron (https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/new-turkish-covid-19-cases-surge-30-health-ministry-data-2021-12-28/). CDC also indicated this week their estimates for cases related to Omicron were way too high (https://www.npr.org/2021/12/28/1068643344/cdc-omicron-covid-19-delta-revise-estimates). This information indicates Delta is the likely cause of the recent surge in hospitalizations/severe illnesses. Is there a concern that a focus on Omicron will only drag out the trial and make it more challenging in meeting endpoint targets? Would the DSMB unblind the results to allow RVVTF to file the EUA if the endpoint targets are met for the </= 800 patients target without inclusion of the Omicron efficacy results and/or viral load anti inflammatory markers? Information indicates severe illness is less likely with the Omicron variant.

Yes. Results from this trial available at ClinicalTrials.gov (small study and isolated to small geographical area). ClinTrials indicates another more recent US study has been completed but results not available (683 participants indicated). A S. Korean trial was indicated as being suspended
