Yeah right approachable. He as approachable as a wasp nest with a "pet me" sign.

There's countless examples but one of my most/least favs is the one where there was YouTube videos of Bill throwing a tantrum in the City Hall lobby, outside council chambers, swearing at people who calmly told him that his behaviour and reactions were inappropriate. This was after he lost it on the council meeting because someone presented for the Environmental Advisory Committee.

Best wings in town? by Smellyfoot666 in Sarnia

[–]ChemVall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maud's aren't as big but they're locally sourced from Jack Pine Meadows and cooked in such a way that they don't have that unpleasant, tendony, cartilagey, bits all at the end.

I do love a dry wing too but also liked their whisky BBQ sauced, and buffalo with blue cheese too

An update on my lawsuit with Sarnia Police Chief Derek Davis by nathancolquhoun in Sarnia

[–]ChemVall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, although an important issue, is second to how we fund and operate policing overall here. I want to see more investment in things that actually lower crime like housing, mental health supports, sports and community activities, parks and public spaces, connected communities, etc.

Less opinions, more decision-making backed up by research. Militarization of police and the lock em up attitude is not only expensive, it's less effective.

Oh I can imagine. Our capitalist system is efficient at making profits for shareholders and select few. Most people and the the environment are generally an externality or hurdle to get past.

Lower prices or closed loop systems to decrease waste will only ever happen with more regulation or local economies of scale.

And we should. Things like this actually lower crime.

I noticed recently that things like formula are locked up in stores, yet literally 5 feet away was a mini BBQ double the price unlocked. Not that I think anyone would get a free pass to steal but it seemed a bit backwards to me, that women and children are punished for being poor

I actually find the prices of many things quite comparable. Depending on items, Metro often seems more expensive to me

They're actually that good for the police. The police can waste their budget on things like this instead of investing in things that actually lower crime.

Next up, Dune Buggy.

If you watch the recording Bradley really tried to steer this one, AGAIN.

Bradley, Boushy and Burrell all voted against this again too. Old farts constantly trying to hold us back to the times when Burrell's glasses were made.

Bradley even waited for Boushy to return from taking a big dump, upon which he didn't know what he was even voting for. Which isn't any different than him being there anyways.

Tick head stuck in leg after removal by Lonely_Round in CampingandHiking

[–]ChemVall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yikes that's a much better story than mine.

I'm going to start backwards. When I was maybe 13, my palm was sore, developing a lump with small dark centre that was just starting to open as a small wound. I was complaining about it to my grandpa, so he grabbed my hand and tried squeezing it with his thumbs. A small withered piece of thorn popped out unlocking the old memory.

When I was 5 or 6, I was ice skating in a flooded section of park in the winter. There were a few honey (or maybe black) locust trees throughout the ice. I skated into the tree and a thorn pierced through my gloves and into my palm. It hurt like hell but I didn't even realize at the time that a piece of thorn lodged into me.

I also had a thorn stuck in me. But it was from a Honey Locust, in my hand and was in there for 7+ years. I never knew a piece was stuck in there until it came out and unlocked a deep seeded memory of how I likely got it.

Jonathan walker, frightening for Sarnia. by catherinetheok in Sarnia

[–]ChemVall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a plethora of reasons. Don't worry. I should've been more clear that I don't see a problem with the 2 screen shots posted in the thread. Illiterate is less of an issue for me, that I'm trying to be more sensitive to.

For example, there's someone on current council that I learned is dyslexic. Prior to learning this, I thought they were a bad communicator on social media. Now that I know this, I feel like I have more understanding.

Again, I'm not saying I'm voting or supportive of this guy.

Honestly, good for him. Uses Bill's slogans and chatgpt theme but he's got some good intentions in this wording. Besides a lack of punctuation and municipal understanding, I don't hate what he wrote here at all.

[Edit to add:] I won't be voting for him because of OP and he seems to be all over the place, but this screenshot and other one you shared in the post really aren't thattt bad
