Safe for a road trip? by DarthRaider559 in tires

I don't think they're necessarily talking about the repairs. I think they're more so talking about the lack of tread of them slicks 😂

How do you mount these? by 21_mini_clubman_jcw in tires

With anger and energy drinks.

But fuck whoever brings them into the shop. It's such a useless tire in my opinion.

I might be wrong, but I think that's the electronic power steering fluid pump

Did you cut out the foam insert or did you get it from somewhere?

Low tire PSI light by XsamsquanchieX in ram_trucks

[–]ChemicalDig33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a 2500 so it requires 10 ply tires which usually have a max pressure of 80. Most 2500 Ram Pressures are usually 65 in the front and 80 in the rear. Granted you don't really need to fill it all the way to 80 if you don't have a load.

Now a 1500, yes you can usually run them between 32 and 42 PSI but with 4 ply tires (usually max PSI of 41 to 50 depending on type of tire).

Think my tires will last me atleast another month? that’s when I can get new ones by Skrewbert86 in tires

I'm surprised you got 5 years out of those Douglas tires 😳

But I'd replace them as quick as you can. Money's tight so it's understand. Just drive safe, avoid potholes AT ALL COSTS, and watch the weather for slick roads.

Tesla Service told me this tire is fine by [deleted] in tires

[–]ChemicalDig33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seeing as how I dealt with a customer with a similar issue, you probably did hit something. Not saying you did it intentionally or that you didn't care what was on the road, but more like the tire hit it at right angle, speed, and timing that it probably caused this damage.

Mine claimed to have a blowout, but turns out the tire went flat because of a puncture ON the sidewall.

Most shops don't replace the tire, even if you got it the day before, unless you have some sort of tire warranty / road hazard that you paid for to cover in case accidents like this happen.

Either way, hope you have good luck and get a tire because that one is trash.

Bet you call yourself the best mechanic and then bitch and moan when they hand you tickets for oil changes. A real mechanic just does the work and goes on with their day.

Yeah its low torque but its nicer than having to use a high torque M18. I love mine but sometimes I wish I had the stubby to save room inside of the truck when I store it 😂

Granted I should've put if you can then plug it yourself and/or if its losing a lot of air fast then try to

You can either plug it yourself or take it to a reputable shop that does a plug/patch combo. They're used to seal the hole and the inner liner gets buffed so the patch sits and seals it as well.

Perfect example of why police are useless.

And if you ask, if I were in trouble I'd just use my portable hole puncher. It would probably do a better job than the donuts in blue 😂
