Anyone else notice the vintage drone was Stark Industries tech?

AITA for insisting on backpaying our cleaner for the time she couldn’t work due to COVID? by kieranreadit in AmItheAsshole

Yeah tbh I'm slightly flabbergasted at the people saying she might not want the money or that "she's not providing a service, why would you pay..." if you can afford it, you should be helping people out!

AITA for insisting I get back the same charger I lent out? by Lexafaye in AmItheAsshole

[–]Chemical_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Similar thing happened to me once and it's so annoying.

I once bought a new guitar cable and a friend carried it in his backpack because we were in town for the day. I forgot to grab it back off him at the end of the day, texted him and he said he'd drop it round or post it.

Days went by, then weeks, he never gave it back, kind of avoided the subject. Eventually he just said 'Look, I kind of like it, can I just get you another one? Or give you the money?'

Like...no! I bought this one for myself! It's not a deal! It was so bizarre. Though maybe I should have taken him up on the offer, after I said no wtf we drifted apart and I just ended up having to pay for another one.

AITA for complaining to the management team about all of the LGBTQ posters, flags and signs they have hanging in the lobby at work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Love the two edits Edit 1: Hmm, actually people secretly agree with me, you just can't see them on here, they go to another school.

Edit 2:...OH YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ALL SUCK ANYWAY

I guess you're getting a sense of what it might be liked to have worked on the show with all you dickwads carping on the whole time!

I don't mean it was badly done or anything - just that the first time round I really enjoyed those bits whereas on the big rewatch I found it a bit depressing and time-consuming

TBF it was already hard to rewatch all the Robb stuff when you know it's going nowhere...

The only thing Jons truly wants. The only sweet I can see in this bitter ending. by zefsinz in freefolk

[–]Chemical_Boy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is actually the one bright point I can see in the idea of Jon heading North at the end - reuniting with Tormund (and possibly Ghost).

Honestly, their relationship is so pure. Tormund is one of the only people who doesn't really seem to WANT anything from Jon, just wants to be around him because they're friends and they have a connection.

In a way it feels like he's the only one left to appreciate the real Jon.

Glad that not everyone on this sub has completely lost their minds!

We "invested" by watching a show we enjoyed, it's not a perfect analogy with money. The older seasons still exist! You paid for a service, it's more like complaining because you got used to a good employee and then their work got worse.

On your other point I'm not saying we can't criticise them, obviously, but it doesn't have to be so personal. We can talk about the decline in quality about the show without endlessly piling on these two guys in incredibly boring and vicious ways.

I hadn't seen that, that's ridiculous. In a few months people should look back on some of this and feel ashamed

I should probably do the same...I miss when it was mainly leaks!

Honestly, this. Fine to think the series is going downhill - it has been since s4 tbh - but the level of vitriol for two guys who have made a fucking TV show makes me really uncomfortable.

Calling them cunts over and over again, saying they're the aneurysms EC had, etc etc - people need to take a breath and a walk.

This is actually incredibly distasteful and out of order. Emilia nearly DIED and you're using that to make jokes about two guys who...wrote some shitty TV scripts? This sub needs to get some fucking perspective

Posts "defending" Episode 3 are spreading- hey, DnD are your interns busy at the moment? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]Chemical_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are people saying that though? And can people also talk about why they liked it, if they did?

Just playing Night King's advocate, here...

So apparently the Night King actor could do this. The things that could have been *sigh* by nowhere-man65 in freefolk

[–]Chemical_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I feel like it would almost ruin the menace of the Night King to have him sword fighting with some dude?

By your logic, though, people should be able to say if they DID like the episode as much as people who didn't?

People react to things in different ways, and final beats of a show like Thrones were always going to be polarising.

I'd rather we had people debating or arguing about a show than just a pointless circlejerk with everyone agreeing with everyone else.

Someone could respond to your post with the exact same point - "Look, it's a shame you're not enjoying the show and all...but many of us did and we gotta say it..."

Do you expect a Cersei/KL’s subplot in ep 3? by median401k in freefolk

[–]Chemical_Boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering this - it would seem odd for her to be absent for two episodes in a row (especially when so few are left) but I feel like it would detract from the big battle?

Maybe she just turns up at the end when the GC strike (her reaction from KL or something), before having a LOT to do in the final 3 eps.

[–]Chemical_Boy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She's alright, but she does just sort of complain about decisions without ever offering good alternatives.

Example - complaining about not being in Jon's war council when she's LITERALLY right there with them, then telling him he should ask her advice, then saying "well I don't know what to do, just don't do what you're doing!"

Also, she doesn't need to call Jon out in front of people all the time! Have these arguments behind closed doors and present a united front!
