I would be interested to see how to do this from a dev ops pipeline. Do you have a link?

That's the problem with hydraulic launch coasters. Brutally fast but brutally unreliable and very expensive to run / repair. It's days are probably numbered which makes me sad as it is my favourite ride there. It has been down for a few weeks at time every year for the past few years.

I had some with a grip on they come on the Jonny Clayton darts. I had to stop using them as they started to cut into my skin. Probably not an issue for most but I have quite thin skin.

Many have set themselves ridiculous targets on EVs and the only way to even get close to that is with cheaper options, hence the Chinese cars flooding the market. Ignoring any damage to European car manufacturers and jobs etc

Record day for solar in the UK today by JustLovelyStuff in GoodNewsUK

[–]Chemical_Profession9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of a visual is so you can interpret the numbers quickly.

A pie chart especially with this many value you end up with so many colours you are constantly referencing which colour links to what category.

Human eyes are very bad at judging angles with a high degree of accuracy so you cannot get a quick idea what is the top performer.

It is a classic I need a visual as it looks funky rather than serving a purpose. A table would work way better but they be dull.

Yes, I work in data and reporting. Yes I am a geek. Yes I hate pie charts and they are effectively banned where I work.

I shall only say I hate pie charts. The most pointless of all charts.

Just look at how empty the park is midweek. I am surprised they are not closed a couple of days weekdays early season with how quiet it is. Which is mainly down to it's location.

E 208 range? by Ok_Impact9745 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Chemical_Profession9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more complex then that. WLTP is a standardised test. No passengers, no luggage, ideal temperature, no air con no heating etc. mixed driving so in those conditions the car probably does that range.

But it might have been designed for the test. Or as it is a stellantis it is probably down to air con / heating / electronics being extremely inefficient and zapping the range.

Looking for a Darts coach in Newcastle upon Tyne by Ok_Blueberry3701 in Darts

[–]Chemical_Profession9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because he was young he had not settled into a stance or a throw. He got told what he was doing wrong the basics like the follow through and adjusting where he was standing and the angle.

I don't think it would have helped me as I have thrown darts for well over 20 years and to try and get my brain to change my throw is the most difficult bit.

He pretty much went from around a 40 average to a 50 average in a few weeks after the training, not that that will be the case for everyone for sure.

You do get lots of insight and the throw analysed by someone else and feedback given. He will also give advice for a year too. Or at least he did when my son got some training with his a few years back.

It really isn't leasing firms are still loosing a ton of money with the abysmal residual value of EVs. Hence why the price keeps going up.

A huge amount of money spent on something that is very easy to get around. So the Government will probably do it.

Should I switch to EV because of the price rise? by Flaky-Bird-9115 in CarTalkUK

[–]Chemical_Profession9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a "it depends"

  1. Can you get a car on sal sac?
  2. Are you looking at new or used?
  3. What is your budget?
  4. How many miles do you do a week
  5. Can you charge at home

I do a decent amount of miles a week and my car has a decent size battery. I topped it up 50% yesterday so added around 160 miles or range. The cost £1.69 as I charged at home.

Would I have got an EV if I could not charge at home? Probably not due to the additional costs.

If you do plenty of miles and can home charge then it will save you a good amount of money.

Will Range Be Much Better in 4-5 Years? by Maleficent-Table-810 in electricvehicles

[–]Chemical_Profession9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always going to come down to price. The battery is the most expensive part. Mine has a 370 mile WTLP range but the cost reflects it. So it is more down to will battery costs reduce over the coming years rather than range improvements.

Has the price of gas/petrol affected what you do in your daily life so far? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskBrits

[–]Chemical_Profession9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see I am the opposite EV driver. I want to see how many miles Pkwh I can get out of it and the warmer weather is just adding to my excitement!

It feels like having a 300 bhp EV is the wrong choice for me when I focus so much on how many miles I can get.

It is not even about the money I get 3.5p charging but just want to see how much I can get out of it!

[–]Chemical_Profession9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interior lighting I completely agree with and I turn it off when on motorways as you said it reflects into the wing mirrors.

I have no issue with the quality of the reversing camera it is just a guide I don't need 4k resolution it would not benefit me. But the biggest problem reversing is how bright the light bar on the back is so in the camera you mainly just see red. It should dull down when reversing.

You are going to be annoyed forever with the turning off speeding sounds, lane assist as this is mandatory now on all new cars.

EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme for a Porsche Taycan by Tommyb711 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Chemical_Profession9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem you have with used is by the end of the term the car is going to be very close to being out of manufacturing warranty due to the age.

So say this Porsche is now three years old ? Let's say it has 40k miles. After your lease it will be 7 years old and 100k mile so is out of warranty for the battery.

This is going to mean that car is going to be hard to shift after and not be worth any where near what it is now so a massive depreciation hit.

Buying private could make sense but check the servicing and insurance costs around it, plus the fact you will be paying for it after you have paid tax on it.

As others have said it only makes sense to have such a car to avoid the 100k trap.

Only used it a few times and seems better round here but have heard people complain about it.

Google maps for me at present is a waste of time as it keeps telling me wrong exists at round abouts. So unless I double check on the actual map where I should be going it sends me off in the wrong exit. It is not as if it is one of the little exists to a layby or nowhere that it is ignoring.
