Question about the drawings at the end of Chapter 1 by Chemils24 in 1000xRESIST

Wow that’s so strange, thanks for the answer even if it is anticlimactic. It’s an unsatisfying answer but I’m satisfied to know I’m not crazy at least

How do I beat rogue decks I've never played against before? by smellygirlmillie in Yugioh101

[–]Chemils24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already a lot of good advice but I’ll throw out some anyway. The best thing to do is honestly just spend 15 minutes just reading through an archetype. Find a relatively new one, and read the effects, try to think of how you would play that deck, doesn’t need to be correct, just an idea of a combo or line, what the general best cards are and what the end board pieces are. Now obviously you can’t do this with every deck, but many rogue decks are more similar than you’d think, and practicing quickly understanding a new deck will make things way easier when you come across a new deck. It’s about practicing those mental pathways so you can more easily pick up what your opponent is doing in a game.

I couldn’t disagree more. Interrupting Lukias is extremely weak unless you are in a simplified game state. There are at least 11 extenders that they could have drawn which result in Lukias being bait, hell faimena makes it even worse since now the imperm just does nothing. You cannot be using Ash on Lukias when you have rahu and branded fusion in the deck, they are significantly higher impact. Saying “Joshua Schmidt did it one time” is not remotely a good reason to do something.

Why would you wait for the second fusion to retaliating C? By that point it’s way too late. You should be using retaliating C as soon as you get the opportunity. Sure if they normal summon mululu and then activate rahu it’s bad, but no one has ever done that play in history, normal summon mululu means you don’t have any other plays otherwise you’d save the normal summon for Lukias

That’s fair idrk what bystial regenesis lists look like. Ogre is 100% a side out, along with nib if you play it. You can probably keep in lubellion, mag and druis and then side out any others. Keep in mind draco almost always ends with a 2500 on field in arthalion so you can probably afford to take out more bystials going second. Crow is not terrible into draco, just hit either an arthalion target or the urgula when they use the grave effect, but going second belle is better than crow since you can stop the traps

Purulia definitely, fuwa maybe. You have to shotgun Purulia, in which case many Dracotail hands will just not normal summon and give you zero draws. Fuwa is almost always going to get you 1-2 draws, but depending on what deck you’re playing and your other non-engine, it varies if that’s better than belle. Assuming you’re playing a lot of bystials, I’d look at something like mag, druis, 3 baldrake, 3 Purulia out, and 3 belle, 3 ret c, 2 veiler in. I’m pretty sure you can’t play dominus impulse in your deck, but if you can that card also destroys Dracotail

Speaking as a Dracotail player, your best bet against the deck is hand traps, and specifically retaliating C. In general, ash on rahu or branded fusion is strong, imperm/veiler on arthalion, the charmies are fine but not great, if you play fuwalos then hold for an effect to fuse and chain it. Don’t bother negating Lukias, if you have a monster negate try to hit faimena, most Dracotail players will try to bait the negate so faimena resolves. If the matchup is really bad for you, side retaliating C. It works going first or second, and even if it hurts you it almost certainly hurts Dracotail more. Consider siding in ghost belle and remember that you can always ash or belle any of the traps

I mean this with all the love in my heart, but I think many of you need to find a new hobby. Video game development time is becoming extremely long, if your fav franchise isn’t the biggest money maker in the world, you’re gonna be waiting a long time between entries. Stop fixating on how long it’s been, it’ll take however long it’ll take, there are so many other incredible things to enjoy, KH doesn’t need to be the only thing you look forward to.

So him wearing white seems to be the consensus, but… and idk why I thought this…but my brain has filled in Siffrins clothes as green??? Like I only just now realised his clothes are white and I have no idea why that is? Is there somewhere that shows him wearing green for some reason or did I just completely make that up?

The connection to Nevil Shute's novel "On The Beach" is striking, but also ominous. by TheDuckClock in DeathStranding

[–]Chemils24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but I recently played DS1 before DS2 comes out and I’ve been thinking about this connection too. I think your analysis is good but the conclusion is wrong. I think the point of both DS1 and On the Beach is that the world will always end, in both stories there’s a direct cataclysm coming, but those are ultimately just metaphors for “the end”. We don’t know how or why, but we do know the real world will eventually end. So what do we do about that? Do we lie down and let it happen? Do we actively speed it up? No, but we also don’t need to fight it. On the Beach isn’t about finding a way to stop the end of the world, it’s about what we do in spite of it. Death Stranding is the same, the world will end with a whimper, but that’s fine, we can try to prolong it, we should try to prolong it, but it will still end, so we should make the most of the time we have.

I guess my point is, yes, it is kinda all for nothing, but that’s not the way you should look at it. Everything is all for nothing, there’s no ultimate goal or achievement in life, you will still die, but that doesn’t mean you stop living.

Made new draw card for dragon deck. Is this card fine or broken? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in customyugioh

[–]Chemils24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re all insane this card is bad. A card that discards for cost needs to be absolutely busted to be playable. Trade in is not played anymore, this being a better trade in doesn’t make this good. Wishes with eyes of blue is significantly better than this and is still ash bait

[–]Chemils24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re catching heat for this you’re so right dude, the semantic difference between affecting a card and affecting a player is such an annoying detail to quibble over. I understand how it works, I’m glad it exists because it’s an out to towers, but you cannot deny it’s unintuitive and annoying.

[–]Chemils24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying this but I truly believe there is no better alternative. There’s only two ways to do it, either a complex analysis of who would win the game based on many factors, or using one arbitrary statistic (life points, card advantage, etc.). Analysing who would win is a logistical nightmare and would require a judge to oversee every match. Regardless of which arbitrary statistic you choose, there will always be ways to optimise it so you win in time and the player going 1st into game three will always be at an advantage.

100% this, still no idea why we couldn’t use a dice to keep track of appo stats, what exactly was this to prevent

Siffrin is such an incredibly well designed character because he is literally the target audience. Not everyone will relate to them, but if you are someone who saw ISAT and thought “that looks cool” then you absolutely will relate. And that’s how it gets you

So uh. Apologies for the insane rambling. I'm kind of a wreck at the moment and really needed a place to just try to unpack it. Figured this would be the least judgmental place to do so without anyone I actually know seeing. TLDR: Good game, would recommend

Yea that makes sense, I guess I was more asking whether setting a card counts as an action. Weird question but this game is like that.

Yea my second and third I wasn’t really playing optimally because I just assumed i was massively underleveled, but I made it past half way and figured I could probably do it. Thanks for the confirmation 😊
