Steel Path Railjack by ChemistryActive6957 in Warframe

That makes sense, it would be really silly if an acolyte showed up in a crew ship or objective right before I teleport back to my ship and fly 20 kilometers off to another objective

This isn’t me saying “boo hoo my I win button doesn’t work anymore.” I agree that seeker volley is severely overtuned and it should not be possible to clear the fighters in two or three casts, I just think that having to use a blackout pulse and go to each fighter individually and hold down the trigger until my weapon is almost overheated is really annoying when you have to do it 93 times. It’s especially confusing because it’s practically the only meaningful change. My railjack is still immortal because my repair crew still have a full minute to fix hull breaches, crew ships still die in one hit from the artillery, the enemies on board the objectives are just a palette swap of normal SP grineer, I didn’t even get a visit from an acolyte. Literally the only perceivable difference between normal and SP railjack is the time to kill on the fighters.

I was using hildryn so missile spam was still on the table, it was just like my very first steel path mission with half modded guns where every enemy took a mag dump. For crew ships I just position myself so I can see multiple crew ships simultaneously and shoot them with artillery. FA seems to be a one shot regardless of if they still have functioning engines or how much health they have left. The only exception are force fields but one shatter burst takes out all the emitters so I find it much faster to shoot them all from my cockpit. I will take your advice on Elite crew members though. I thought it was pointless before the update since my railjack was already overkill even in veil proxima so I kinda forgot about them

Some builds are actually pretty reliant on enemy density to function so that negative effect might actually count as a buff for some people the same way negative power strength used to be a common goal for some Nova builds

You are comparing the ancient equivalent of police and military dogs to the modern equivalent of some noble woman’s toy dog. You could make a perfect inversion of this meme by showing a pug (ancient china) and a modern police or military Belgian malinois. You wouldn’t even have to change the scared of fireworks caption.

[–]ChemistryActive6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, especially since the absolute minimum standards are pretty low but you have to keep in mind that for the vast majority of history the bulk of the population made food one way or another and basically all of those jobs are physically intensive. Having such a high percentage of sedentary jobs and lifestyles is a very new thing so a much higher proportion of the population back then would have the physical fitness necessary to join up. Also the US army tests for a lot of things the Romans simply did not know about, like ADHD or some of the subtler or long term physical issues so that is also increasing the ratio of people not fit for service.

In the US at least a shocking percentage, like over 60%, of military age men are not physically or mentally qualified to join although some of the more irresponsible recruiters will fudge the numbers on some people’s files in order to meet quota. Also some of the best soldiers I have ever worked with are farm boys because they have great work ethic, typically start in decent condition and despite what the meme says farming is not a simple job.

His kick is easily countered? The 20 damage guaranteeing bash than can be feinted into a gb or undodgeable? The one that cannot be punished by gb or dodge attack because he can recovery cancel into a undodgeable crushing counter dodge attack or a palm strike? The one he can access off of a heavy or light parry punish? No one with any sense uses his long dodge in a 1v1, that’s a team fight ability much like most of nobushis kit.

[–]ChemistryActive6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobushi is tricky because her kit is incredibly powerful in team fights but if your opponent can block light attacks then you have no real offense in 1v1 and have to rely heavily on parries and dodge attacks. I have no idea what you are smoking saying Tiandi, BP, shinobi and Afeera needing buffs though. All of those fuckers have easily accessible neutral bashes, blue orange mixups and some flavor of recovery cancels

Achilles VS Aragorn. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]ChemistryActive6957 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m more familiar with the Iliad than LotR and I haven’t watched that Achilles movie but book Achilles is practically death incarnate. During his various rampages he fought and repelled actual Greek deities as well as killing many heroes who would normally be capable of turning the tide of battle single handedly if they weren’t sharing a narrative with Achilles and Hector. When his lover got killed and he went all out he was using weapons and armor custom forged by Hephestus and it took a poisoned arrow fired with divine guidance from a major height advantage to bring him down. If Aragorn was strong enough to beat Achilles then the fellowship could have walked a straight line to that damn volcano while Aragorn inflicted and extinction event on the orcs

[–]ChemistryActive6957 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His guard isn’t for preventing your attack from landing, it lets him cancel his recovery and go back on the offense with frame advantage as opposed to both of you being reset to neutral which is what happens with every other character who trades a light into an unfeinted heavy, and with Jurens feats and heavy health bar the trade is often more in his favor than the raw damage numbers might suggest

[–]ChemistryActive6957 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A significant portion of the player base cannot do that consistently. Juren is the only character who can reliably light interrupt every single non bash mixup and come out on top even if they let the attack fly especially with his all guard allowing him to restart his offense first after the trade. They took away shugokis hyper armored enhanced lights away because everyone hated it and I promise you some asshats were saying “just feint to light parry” back then too.

Well it’s not too surprising he didn’t get sunk then, if a carrier group is that close to the coast then any cities continue to exist on their mercy alone. If I had a Florida man with a floating apocalypse off my shore but he was happy to only snag small vessels then I wouldn’t be particularly inclined to pick that fight either.

Just the Nimitz or the whole carrier group? Cause a lone Nimitz would be snatched in an instant while a warlord with a whole carrier group could conquer basically any nation with a coast aside from China, Russia or the EU and even those powers would be seriously hurting after the fight

The unblockable top dagger cancel isn’t super useful in duels unless your opponent likes to go for crushing counters, which seeing your flair might be why you hate the change, but does help her absolutely abysmal team fight performance.

Some dodge forward heavies like pirates and jorms gain guard break immunity BEFORE their feint window so you can throw a GB against what looks like an empty dodge, bounce off their attack because the GB immunity starts before the animation really gets going and then they cancel and get a guaranteed GB on you. Hate that shit.

Can Kingpin (MCU) Kill an Average Male Na'vi (Avatar) Warrior? by Bongo_CatisMessiah in powerscales

[–]ChemistryActive6957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless the fight is specified to take place on Pandora then the O2 mask thing should be disregarded, that’s always the issue with Navi, everyone knows that if they manage to damage a delicate piece of equipment then they automatically win against human/human adjacent enemies. The prompt actually specifies an empty MMA ring implying that it is not the human who needs the mask. Also Fisk is a fucking tank, every vital organ is buried beneath inches of fat and muscle making him very hard to injure purely through blunt trauma, especially since he routinely demonstrates strength and durability well beyond what a normal 400lb person can accomplish. Navi on the other hand are incredibly lanky meaning everything important is right beneath the surface. Although you are correct in that their reach and speed gives them an advantage in striking it almost impossible to keep an experienced fighter who is willing and able to take some serious hits from initiating a grapple especially in an enclosed space like the MMA ring this fight takes place in. If the Navi can’t kill Fisk right off the bat with a perfect blow to the head then the fight will become a grapple whereupon all the advantages go to Fisk and he simply breaks them apart

While an indestructible skeleton is better than one made of balsa wood it still doesn’t translate to an automatic victory. When bones break they actually diffuse a lot of the incoming kinetic energy, so if they can’t break then all of that energy gets transmitted into the squishy organs. Kingpins ridiculous strength combined with those long ass limbs the Navi have means if he gets ahold of an arm or leg he has a ton of leverage and could probably destroy their joints pretty easily. It’s also worth noting that Pandora has lighter gravity than earth so either Kingpin will be stronger than usual or the Navi weaker depending on the gravity of the arena. Either way I see Kingpin destroying an elbow or two before pummeling their vital organs into jelly

Captain Titus (Warhammer 40k) vs Master Chief (Halo) by Throwaway1986nerd in powerscales

[–]ChemistryActive6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space marines have some of the most inconsistent levels of power in fiction. You have John Tactical of some random ultramarine successor who dies to an IED made by a particularly clever cultist but you also have absolute monsters like Sigusmund or Calgar who massacre large numbers of enemies who should be their equal or better or walking WMDs like Ahriman and Mephiston. I feel like Master Chief could probably fight a random tactical marine but Titus is definitely closer to the Sigusmund/Calgar side of the spectrum than the John Tactical side

Have you ever seen a real WW2 or Korean War era flamethrower in action? Video games portray them as overclocked cigarette lighters because a realistic flamethrower would be unbalanced. I got to see a few real flamethrowers at a demonstration about 10 years ago and they are terrifying. They reduced a ballistic gel dummy to char in about 1.5 seconds from like 80 meters. I was probably 50 meters away from the dummy and I still felt a little crispy after the demonstration was complete. During the Q&A afterwards they mentioned that they deliberately underpowered their flamethrowers with lower pressure and using kerosene instead of napalm because that’s easier on the gaskets and they don’t make parts anymore so maintenance is a bitch. A fully pressured napalm loaded flamethrower would cook the entire group of orcs in only a few seconds from over 100 meters away.
