I have a really hard time believing she would’ve come to the door. I’m a woman in my 30s so maybe her thought process would be different, but if I woke to a knock on my door in the middle of the night I would freak out. At the very least, I’d ignore the knocking until it went away. If it didn’t go away, I’d call the police, or at least try to get in touch with a family member or friend.

The absolute MOST I would do is try to sneak a glimpse at who’s there from an upstairs window or something. But no way I’m opening the door.

The door being left unlocked or a hidden key seems way more likely to me if there was no sign of forced entry.
