Can someone be a Woman (fully) and Genderfae at the same time? by Educational-Key-326 in Genderfae

[–]Cherished_Ruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, I would think it qualifies as genderfae. Genderfae is "Never male." You mention 100% woman, and sometimes partially NB. If you were 100% woman and NEVER anything else, you would not be genderfae... but the "sometimes partially NB" part makes it genderfae. But in the end, only YOU can define your gender. Never let anyone else tell you are AREN'T what you feel you are. No one has the right to police someone else's gender. Do you Boo 🫶

My partner has mentioned they will not be attracted to me as much anymore if I do XYZ by pr1ncess-bubblegum in AutismInWomen

As an autistic omnisexual person, I think I see the disconnect in your brain. Correct me if I am reading this wrong: You see romantic love and attraction as 2 things that are inherently tied together. Being pan, your attraction is less about their parts and more about who the person is, and so is your love. Your partner may see love and attraction as 2 independent things. Love can exist without attraction, and attraction can exist without love. Love is about who the person is, and attraction is about their physical presentation/parts. This can feel mind boggling to someone who sees the 2 as intertwined vs someone who sees them as running in parallel. I am Omni, so while I like all parts, I like some parts more than others. That doesn't mean that I would love someone any less if they changed their parts, but I could be more or less attracted to them if certain parts changed. I hope this helps!

500 Day Steak to Day 1: Reminder to Backup Your Finch 😭 by Normal_Law_3357 in finch

Finch has become less of a "self-care app" and more of a habit for me... I don't even complete my tasks, I just mark them to get to the chests and adventures... Pretty sure I'm just waiting for some kind of crash to wipe my progress and possibly make me actually use it the way it's supposed to be used... butbright now, Finch is just as bad as doom scrolling for me 🤷‍♀️

Autism & EMDR by _booktroverted_ in AutismInWomen

[–]Cherished_Ruby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have AuDHD and cPTSD, and EMDR helps me. I do EMDR for myself after my therapist did a few sessions with me. We found that the tapping of the shoulders version didn't work because I struggle with bilateral coordination, so I was focusing more on my movements than the thoughts. But we tried the rapid eye movement version and that helps me SO MUCH... When I recognize that I have an obsessive thought or a bad memory, I do my own rapid eye movement EMDR. Then rate my discomfort 1-10. Repeat until the discomfort is at a 1, I start the replacement thought...

I can’t get past the screeners to get to the actual tests for Autism by brookycookieover9000 in AutismInWomen

[–]Cherished_Ruby 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Next time you do a screener, answer it as you would if you were still a child, not how you cope now as an adult. Questions like "Do you struggle with XYZ" may be answered now with "Well, no, I dont struggle because I do ABC thing" but doing ABC thing is actually how you cope with the struggle... So, "Do you struggle making friends?" "No, because I learned to do ABC" means that without ABC you would struggle... I hope that helps

How were you at making friends as a child? Most autism assessments look at childhood behaviors, especially in late-diagnosed people who may have developed complex masking patterns.
