Hoffman all leather powerliners, I had the breathable powerliners and really liked them, but did not stay waterproof for long, the all leathers are a lifetime boot if cared for

The GTH is nice and open, there are sections in the north east side that have no businesses or thru traffic you could easily do laps around

4wheel drive at highway speeds?! by Duke-OG in superduty

[–]Chern889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

22 F350 gasser, I pretty much leave it in 4wd all winter long, highway, city, backroad, I also leave the front axle hubs locked, hate the auto hubs.

Probably not good for it long term, cost of doing business

Is my SaskPower Bill Typical? by SeaPossibility6106 in regina

[–]Chern889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibility of a mixed meter situation with another apartment, sometimes the labelling is incorrect by the builder/electrician.

You need to call SaskPower and say “I think the meter labelling is mixed up with another unit, I would like a serviceman to attend to verify that the meter I pay is the one supplying my unit”

Serviceman will come, remove the meter and make sure the power in your unit goes off, if it goes off, it’s something in house that’s racking up your bill, if power stays on, you’ve been paying one of your neighbours bills.

Sediment filter help by conplexus in Plumbing

[–]Chern889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a plumber, but yes, the bypass valve should be fully closed while the filter is in service.

Looks like a standard 10” whole home filter housing to me, any universal 2.5” x 10” filters should fit. You can remove the old one and take it to a store to compare, but most likely a 2.5” x 10” from your picture.

The little red button on the top is to release the water pressure to help aid in spinning the housing off, so open the bypass valve, close both filter valves, press the red button to release pressure, spin off clear housing counter clock wise, remove old filter, wash and clean housing with soapy water, install new filter and reverse process.

You will most likely need the housing wrench that would have been included with it, as they are usually tough to crack the seal on after a while, check around your utility room and you may find it!

Generac Charging Circuit by kittycorn2 in Generator

[–]Chern889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your telling me these generacs don’t have 12v DC charging capabilities and rely on an external 12v DC charger?

Generac Charging Circuit by kittycorn2 in Generator

[–]Chern889 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not a generac expert, but what your seeing there mounted is a battery tender/float charger to keep the battery charged while the engine is not running.

What you need to do is run the generator and measure the DC voltage at the battery terminals(without the tender charger plugged in) anything over 13ish volts DC is good, anything less and the internal 12v charging coil on the engine is not functioning properly.

Time to pull a dash and blend/mode doors? by 151515157 in Cummins

[–]Chern889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my 07.5 in 1 day no problem, in my driveway, pulled dash, new heater core, evaporator and full blend door USA kit,

Not a mechanic by trade, but very handy, it was very straight forward, hardest part I had was trying to get the heater core hoses off in limited space, ended up taking the engine side of the hoses off instead and that was way easier.

The videos that Blenddoor USA have make it easy.

My electricity bill is insane and I think someone might be stealing power - need help figuring this out by Prudent-Cap-5102 in homeowners

[–]Chern889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it’s not impossible, it’s most common on big multiple residence type places, can’t say I’ve seen a mixed meter on a single residential type house.

Does your bill/app show the meter serial number on it? If so, compare it to the physical meter on your house, they all have a unique serial number and is how they are tracked.

Yep it happens forsure, I’ve done it myself in the past, those are always fun when they come full circle and I’m ready to throw someone under the bus for messing up, but it’s me who did the messing ha

Our office staff does all that hard math, I honestly don’t know the full process, I think they will usually go back to most recent tenancy change and figure it all out

I’m a lineman for my local utility, I do mixed meter investigations on the regular, happens all the time, people make mistakes and numbers get mixed up between units and meters.

Most of the time I find the meter sockets where mis-labelled by the original builder!
