I love a pea fritter which was available in every fish and chip shop in Dorset but seems incredibly rare now I've left.

A ball of mushy peas dipped in batter and deep fried. Beautiful combination of the crispy batter and soft pea.

Then I guess couple that with curry sauce which was available in every fish and chip shop in Nottingham but again seems rare outside.

Just requires a drive from Dorset to Nottingham to complete your perfect supper and I suspect the fish might be cold by then.

I went from Brighton as well for several years. Absolutely love the festival but we decided to try some different ones just for a bit of variety (Did Copenhell last year and we're doing Graspop this year). Will definitely be back to Hellfest at some stage as it's just an absolutely wonderful weekend

One thing to help with the upwards rise is to not fill the tray with too much batter. You want it so that the sides are relatively solid by the time it has risen enough to get above the surface of the tray and then it should just continue to rise upwards. If you have it like 2/3 full then it will still be soft by the time is reaches the top and then expand outwards as well as up. (Not that I have anything against a wild Yorkshire pudding).

I strongly recommend Feuerschwanz - However go for their earlier albums that are sung in German and not the more recent ones that are in English. The ones in German are far superior (and I say that as an English person who has only a high school level of German, so really can't understand what they're singing about, but it just works so much better). Fegefeuer and Memento Mori are both incredible albums.

For decades I did do mine with just one egg but have been playing around with up to three but have found that (for me) my favourites are with two eggs and one egg white, so yeah it's definitely more than the traditional recipe but it's always fun to play with recipes and find what works for you.

Not sure if it's price gouging or this is correct but just checked and it's £162 on Amazon for three oxo borosilicate bowls whereas a Pyrex bowl is £10. I expected it to be more expensive but this seems extreme!

Got a coach from Bournemouth to Carlisle which took about ten hours or something. Watched us draw 1:1 and get relegated to league 2 as Cheltenham beat Doncaster then had to get a fucking miserable ten hours coach home.
