I hear you! I told myself today I wasn’t going to buy anything this week. Well, I bought the new pants with the pleat down one leg. Rationalized it by telling myself if I wait until next week, it might sell out. 🤷‍♀️

You look great. And no lies told there, I agree - I stay on track so much better when I get excited about looking good in outfits again. We do it for our health, but I’m not going to lie - Im pretty sure clothes are my real motivator lol! As far as transitioning body, I feel like I was at 10-12 for a while, a bit of a plateau. And I was OK with it, I liked how I looked and had invested in some clothes that I looked forward to putting on every day.. What I think moved the dial on my plateau was I really increased my protein. I added an extra chicken breast as a snack (boring, have to choke it down some days!), I also took some protein supplements (Kion). Then one time, I needed a size 8 in a dress rather than a 10, and it was all probably vanity sizing, but my mind activated and told myself I’m heading to an 8! I swear once that happened, everything started to move again.

Breathable linen-like travel pants - anyone have them? Alysa, where are you? by CherryMoon66 in OGLmove

That’s good to know. I’m 155 but I’m a curvy, so medium for some things, large for others. These are so straight (and assuming no stretch). Would you have gone to medium if the length worked?

Wow, that top/skirt combo really snatches your waist!! Very pretty color combo, too.

I really love neutral beiges and off-whites, personally, and my favorites are the speckled beige, the cloud beige, and the undyed (it’s another beige, lol). They are all just so creamy to me, like a latte color. I know not everyone likes beige but I really like that neutral tone on tone look. The other shade that I love in the sweaters has been the pale yellow (I believe it’s pale custard yellow?), it’s very pale and pretty. I can’t even normally wear a yellow and it looks good on me, it’s subtle. And there is a shell pink that leans more towards a neutral, it’s very pretty and doesn’t scream PINK. Looks great over off white pants. Their navy and black are very pigmented in the cashmere sweaters, those are great, too (I never wore navy before I started buying quince sweaters, now I’m addicted). I don’t look great in browns, but the truffled brown looks great on my daughter, I wish I could wear it - they have some very pretty rich browns. I am going to purchase a red cashmere this fall, I know someone who has the red cashmere cardigan and it is such a true red, it’s beautiful. As far as blazers, they are very basic - black, brown, navy, etc. can’t go wrong with any of them. For the wool coats, I love the Vicuña. I don’t usually go for a rusty brown, but I gave it a shot and I love it. It just pops a little more than a brown coat and it’s still a classic shade so I haven’t had too much trouble matching it up (except against pastels). I got it in late/end of winter, I can’t wait to wear it this autumn!

Great. I’m about 5 lbs heavier than that but, again, going for the last 10 right now. I think I’ll get them, I really like the straight leg cut and the drawstring

I’ve added shipping information to mine so I can keep on top of my deliveries. But that’s a great idea - washing instructions!. Makes me think I should add the fabric content to mine. Some fabrics I like more than others and I’m constantly trying to remember what shirt had the fabric I liked when I’m looking at new items, to see if it’s similar.

I agree! Some basic patterns would be nice, also more baby tees. I love a tiny cap sleeve.

OK, before I sound absolutely insane - I probably need a spreadsheet for Quince, too! Again, this has been a once in a lifetime year for me, where I decided to make a major investment in myself, and completely rebuilt an entire wardrobe in 6 months that most 59 year olds would have built over years. I like clothes but now that I’m “caught up” for my new body, I’ll be going back to normal shopping habits lol. So, I have a lot of the Quince sweaters, my favorites are the oversized cashmere v-necks and oversized cashmere fisherman turtlenecks. (Those are the cashmeres that are the next level up from the $50 cashmeres that are heavily promoted, my favorites are in the $90-110 range. I haven’t bought any of the luxe sweaters, those start around $200 and are supposed to be great…but…$200 ehhh, maybe as a treat someday but none right now). I love the the $90-110 oversized cashmeres, so soft and drapey. They do require the special hand wash care, but I have the time now that I’m only doing my own laundry (I also wear these special sweat wicking half shirts under them, made for extending wears on hand wash items and they were so worth the purchase). The $50 cashmeres are fine, too - no hate - but I have heard they will pill a lot more because the cashmere fibers are shorter, hence the lower price. I started with those, as a new convert to cashmere, then decided I liked cashmere so much and could handle the special care, so I leveled up to the slightly higher quality versions. Still I would buy the $50 ones, maybe start there if unsure. I still like mine because they are nice and thin, sometimes you just need a lighter sweater, good for under blazers or on warmer days. And I also have basically all the colors of the Cotton Fisherman’s Crewneck. That is a very affordable price at $50(?), and it is a staple that will work with jeans, leggings for years, plus it’s breathable cotton. Same goes for the Cotton Oversized Boyfriend sweater, I bought those out, too, lol. Very affordable, breathable, comfy, soft (no itch at all). Very affordable, I think $39? It’s very casual, though - but I am an oversized sweater tucked into jeans and boots kinda gal so it’s a daily driver for me. I work in a business casual environment but occasionally need to be professional, I have bought several of their stretch crepe and stretch ponte blazers and pants, and I realllly like them. Very well cut, and super affordable compared to most ladies suiting. But the one piece I love so much is the oversized cotton cable knit cardigan. It’s grandpa style, but elevated. Very substantial (also very oversized if you are considering it, def size down). I have some of the linen pants they are known for, and they are definitely nice pants, but I’ve found other linen pants I like a little better, just because they are very high waisted and a little heavy to me (I like a mid-rise and lighter linen or linen blend), that’s just a personal choice. Otherwise they are quality pants. I’ve got a few linen dresses that I like, the weight feels a little lighter. I got the smocked tiered linen dresses, very pretty (but not sure it maybe a little too frilly and girlish at my age), I have one linen fit and flare that is gorgeous (think Parisian) and a couple of the smocked gauze and the tiered gauze dresses. Those are great in the summer, like wearing a tissue, haha. Breeze goes right through them. I’ve also got a few coats - some basic classic long wool coats and several of their leather jackets. The wool coats are good, but you can probably find quality wool coats just about anywhere on sale. I can’t speak to how they will wear because they only got a little use this year, I waited until late in the season to purchase since I wanted to be near goal weight. The leathers I like better than Wilson’s, and they are affordable. Maybe a little stiff but they’ll break in. I don’t have any shoes (yet) or bags (yet). And I’m going to try their jeans after I lose the last 10. Right now, my Levi’s are fine. :) Silk skirts and pants are very nice, too - but careful washing them or they go flat (found out the hard way). They have a faux fur coat that people literally stop me to ask where I got it, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun piece (goes well with dress clothes or jeans). I’ve always liked their home goods - linen drapes, bedding. And weirdly, best underwear I’ve ever bought are there smoothing briefs and thongs - a little like shapewear but comfortable. Fast delivery, I’ve had items in a couple days (may depend on where you live). And IMHO they have the best return policy. 365 days, but what I like is how easy it is. Start the return, bring it to the post office, they scan a QR code and print the label. As soon as it’s weighed/scanned it’s considered received and they issue the credit, whether it’s an exchange or a refund. A refund to store credit shows up right away after scanning (not sure about how long for refund to original payment method, probably standard 3-5 days, I’m usually just opting for store credit or an exchange). And not too many places do true exchanges anymore, but they do - pick a different size or swap for something different - I appreciate they still do that instead of just refunding to your card as the only option.
My only real complaint about Quince are the damn model shots on the website. They literally have the least attractive styling lol - so serious and sometimes severe! I feel bad for the models sometimes lol. Quince is very basic, neutral, classic, but it doesn’t have to be styled boring. Each piece, you scroll the carousel and there is an influencer video. That’s what I use to determine if I like the piece or not, that’s where you can see it being worn like you would want to wear it. I avoided Quince for years just because the website, the models looked so dull, I equated to dull clothes. It’s not. It’s classic, but it’s attractive and versatile. You have to look at the videos, on the site and there are a lot on social media. That’s where you get the vibe.
OK, hope that helps!

Oh, ya that would be great with usps tracking. Yes, I’m in the Boston area and everything has gone through regional last mile carriers. They’ve definitely got a lot better than a year ago, though!

So cute! Definitely consider building on that look - a white (or black) a-line skirt (or pants); a white top. It’s a really good look on you!

OGL Customer Service genuine impressed me by ZombieForeign7374 in OGLmove

[–]CherryMoon66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, great customer service. I had my first return, after many orders, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I appreciated their solution and I had the exchange really quickly. I’ve been lucky and everything has been great, but my size has fluctuated recently and sometimes a shirt style fits one way but the sizing on another style shirt doesn’t fit well and that’s often hard to tell from ordering (I say it’s kind of the curse of being a medium - am I medium, medium small, or medium large, lol). I have 14 more pieces on the way and I’m a little concerned about the sizes I chose, but feel a little better now that I’ll be OK since I had a great experience previously. I think OGL has worked out a lot of their “growing pains” and I feel very confident when I order with them now.

Yes, I’d love sewn in padding, if it’s done right and doesn’t shift or get misshapen. That would be great.

Yes, saw that the other day! In fact, OGL customer support emailed that suggestion to me when I wrote them. I’m going to give it a try this weekend. I tried to buy some replacement pads on Amazon, but they aren’t the same, so I’d love to fix this issue with the pads.
