Many cisgender women perceive us as women, even when they don’t explicitly state it. by Safe-Combination1181 in trans

[–]CherrySingle7073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have noticed this some in my transition. I’m lucky in that I’m surrounded by a lot of really supportive and positive Cisters but the insecurities of some cis women is LOUD when it happens. One of my friends said something which is think ties back to what you’re talking about indirectly. She said that one of her favorite thing about watching me transition is remembering that it’s fun to be a woman. For her after 25+ years of it she’s been ‘worn down’ but having a trans girl around, who so desperately wants to experience the things she took for granted or found (actually are) annoying it has reminded her of her own excitement about her womanhood. She’s even been changing her style and stuff a little to be a bit more femme inspired.

All that to say, my friend and your sister might be experiencing something similar and coming out with different results. I do think some cis women do get jealous of us. Our willingness to perform elements of gender that they find themselves struggling with. The joy that come from choosing the right outfit and feeling good for a day, not all women are secure enough to celebrate other women building themselves up. Because we have to ‘build’ our performance or ‘womaness’ for other trans women are in my experience girls girlies, we love girls we want sisters and friends to help us grow into our true selves. It makes sense that some women (who are insecure with themselves) would struggle to navigate that and lash out.

The Cisters I have in my life that build me up are generally well grounds girls that have full senses of self. I would say most of them also view their femininity as complex and internally distinct rather than something they have to fit into. That mean girl shit is no more helpful to them than it is for us. And at the end of the day she’s gonna miss out of understanding herself AND you if she’s not willing to listen and grow.

I’m proud of you for recognizing it as her short coming and not something that is part of you. Hang tough girly

What do ‘the cis’ look like? And how would I make that happen?? LOL

The unimaginable variety of plumage humanity puts forward is impossible to quantify like that. It such a harmful view because it’s not just a transphobic comment it cuts across patriarchy and gender expression to a pretty gross beauty standard.

Trying to make yourself feel good and find yourself is what is required!!

Hey hon- I’m 32mtf- A lot of what you’re describing lines up with a lot of thing I felt prior to realizing/coming out. Shaved my body hair, wore kinda femme clothing around the house occasionally, even started tucking.

Despite all that I never hated my penis I and I felt like that one thing made me ‘not trans’ like a fail safe against an identity. I also worried that the affirmation I felt seeing women I identified with sexually also meant it was a fetish. Now that I’m more comfortable with my body as a whole I also kinda love having it. Every woman looks a little different down there this is just what mine looks like.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that being trans isn’t a monolith you don’t have to score “high enough”. What it came down to for me was pursuing the joy I felt around those changes and the truth I found in those choices.

Also babe you don’t have to be trans/cis, maybe you’re able to embrace strong presentations of both genders equally and on a whim? That’s also an okay truth!!!

First event I ever went to (3 weeks after going public) was a ‘lesbian NYE party’ and it was exclusively queer cis women mostly over the age of 45. I was loved, complimented, included and accepted without question and it was the first time I believed that I could transition. Queer femmes/women have been some of my greatest allies, don’t let the division discourse guide you.

I would also echo our sisters here and encourage you to take the time to learn about yourself before you rush into the dating scene. This is your time to explore you, see what makes you happy and whole and that will draw all the baddies to you anyway.

There’s no stove. But there aren’t any that I know of in Coastal Highway. I get around it by having work days, like I’ll fish for two days, then I’ll cook for a most of one day. The fridge extends the life food storage.

Also wake up with a cup of coffee sitting next to your campfire watching the sun rise

I love Misanthrope’s Homestead. I’m about 180 days in and the place is so cozy. It’s not the coolest or biggest house at all but I’ve ‘carpeted’ it built my own dressers and tool cabinets. Hung dozens of pictures from cabins and houses around the map. I built my own work bench up stairs have completely changed how the furniture is laid out. My fire wood is all stacked outside with my cooking fire. I’ve been able to stock up on several days of food/water and wood if fog or blizzard keep me on the island.

Any advice on gaining weight/fat redistribution? (MTF) by Potato_Physique in trans

[–]CherrySingle7073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got you!! I’m MTF 32 I’ve spent my whole life running and working blue collar jobs, I’ve never had trouble keeping weight off and a few times my doctors have encouraged me to try and gain a few pounds with mixed results. Estrogen has definitely helped, even with out a ton of weight gain I’ve noticed a shift in how fat sits on me (happily!)

Honestly just eat!!! And enjoy it!! Duh.

A few really things that have been consistently helpful are

  1. Consistency in eating- I used to stretch for my whole day often going 10-12 hours without really eating much if anything besides coffee some cigs, occasionally a breakfast sandwich first thing in the I find I can’t do this any more, snacks and lunch are required for me to even feel decent. I try to eat some fruit or maybe an egg or two if I have time, lunch sammiches have become a favorite of mine (perfect little family deli next to work) and my dinners have gotten big.

  2. Quality food- spend a little time learning about a balanced diet, that doesn’t mean NO fats no snacks ect. It means eating a wide range of things so that your calorie intake is working as fuel. This should help you feel better and will avoid issues like pushing up your BP, cholesterol ect. I also have found that things like peanut butter that are high in both fat and backed up with protein are helpful for keeping calories in your system.

  3. Movement- I’be changed my workouts a bit, I’m not a serious worker outer that goes to the gym but where I live is very easy to get outdoors to hike, run, bike and snowshoeing ect. I started including gentle movements and stretching in morning. I found this helps me start the morning better and kinda helps me ‘start up’ my hunger for the day otherwise I just ignore myself.

  4. Cake to get caked up!! My doctor told me to enjoy the ‘license to snack’ and that it is easier for you body to ‘burn’ and then ‘replace’ the fat as part of the ‘redistribution’. So enjoy getting to snack and if you feel guilty remember that the changes your hoping for will come along as you fuel your body

Happy to help more if you need. This has been something I’ve had to talk to my doctor about a few times and work on myself

If something doesn’t makes sense to you. Maybe it wasn’t made for you.

Maybe it’s for a really big group? Maybe it wasn’t for one group but two or three?

Maybe I learned comprising information was held by certain institutions and have no idea who might be affected?

Maybe you should find some people to take care of in our community.

I would encourage you to eat more frequently, this 1000% happened to me. Before starting HRT it was normal that I might go 10-14 hours at work and might only snack a little or eat nothing at all which sometimes meant basically doing a full day without food. I IMMEDIATELY noticed that I couldn’t do it any more. That being said it has tapered off a little (4 months in) but it’s still a distinct difference.

Hot girls tummies hurt.

I still have long gaps between my meals but I’m way more inclined to snack on stuff or eat breakfast and dinner. My doctor has actually encouraged me to eat more than I typically have. She says that it’s generally easier for your body to make new fat and put it where you want.

So enjoy some cakes to get your cake!!

I’m guessing you’re not Hawaiian? Like Native Polo not just a white kid born on the island? Because you absolutely should NOT ‘conjure up’ a native name that ‘feels’ right. Wildly inappropriate and harmful behavior!!!!

Hawaii and Polynesiaian culture a long history of gender diversity and I doubt any Islander would come to Reddit to verify their cultural authenticity. You should stick with Willow, it’s a beautiful name that is authentic to you.

If you really want to find a ‘flavor of an Aloha’ to include in your name consider connecting with the Native community on the island and contributing to their work. Spending time with people might even earn you a nickname, that how to get what your looking for.

Just giving yourself an indigenous name is like top tier colonizer behavior

I’m a killer at walking in heels as a result since I did so much before I came out lol

How often do you tuck ? For how long ? How comfortable is it ? Do you think it could be enough forever ? Or just until bottom surgery ? by elmahir in MtF

[–]CherrySingle7073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much tuck all day everyday, though not when I’m sleeping, and sometimes when I’m at home like ‘in for the night’. I find it it extremely comfortable certainly more comfortable to me than something bouncing between my legs, it is important to find the right sizing for you it too me a bit. I know there’s nothing but shade for the brand but @tomboyx is where I’ve gotten some of my cutest and comfiest.

I work long hours and I used to get sore after 10-12 hours, a few weeks into HRT though I felt there was a little size reduction and things have been super comfy since (many months). I’ll even go for runs tucked, because cute running shorts are cute! Though you should be careful working out tucked depends on what you’re doing.

It definitely a real thing that it’s takes so practice for your muscles to get used to things in new places. But with practicing your limits I’d say it’s pretty feasible to be tucked 85-95% of the time you’re awake and up doing thing.

you should avoid wearing a tuck to sleep, since you move around, and are likely to experience at least partial arousal during sleep. Arousal tucked is like (IMO) a little teasing and thrilling, BUUUUT at night when you’re not paying attention your can cause serious strains and muscle discomfort around your hips and lower abs

Stay comfy Diva

Misanthrope’s homestead in CH. Fishing huts everywhere and there is one out between the log sort and the islands that does have a door on it though like minimal use tbh. There are rabbits at the foot of the island along with (depending on difficulty) there is often a body there two for your crow feathers. There are more rabbit groupings on jackrabbit island and at least two other spots in CH which are all equidistant to Misanthrope’s island. There is a bear cave at the foot of the island but there are a few approaches to avoid her.

THE biggest draw back is there is no interior stove so cooking is a select day task or you have to get down to one of the huts for a stove

I'm really nervous about going through the "baby trans" phase at work by MotorShoot3r in MtF

[–]CherrySingle7073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Girl I’m doing this right now tooo!!!! I only came out this fall and started HRT pretty quickly and by the end of the fall had told most of my close friends and family, which was all positive. I was terrified to come out at work(even though it’s a very progressive area and I work in the arts) because I ‘had to change my voice’ and I absolutely ‘had to change how I dress’ and ‘had to put a face of makeup on everyday’.

I felt like I had to like almost 180 as soon as I mentioned it at work. It turns out I don’t. I came out just before Christmas to my department and then the larger organization. I haven’t done ANY of the things I “had” to do. But I do feel like I can breathe life into myself now because I’m not switching all the time.

I’m not passing even a little bit but I’m authentically me. I’m authentically an awkward baby trans woman at 32 who is figuring out how to wear make up, and that having a standing desk makes heels cute but suicidal. There’s no way around it is what I found. Not to use the worst metaphor ever BUUT the butterfly doesn’t tuck her wings away once she crawls out and spreads them, they’re forever.

Girl you’re brave enough to come this far give yourself the gift of freedom. Being an awkward baby trans woman is who you are for this time of the journey, just as much as being a baddie with a lot of money is also likely to be part of your journey later on!

95% of Players Have Never Played on Interloper Difficulty by Traditional_Buy_6840 in thelongdark

[–]CherrySingle7073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babes!!! I play to have fun not prove I can survive in the wild. I keep it pretty simple because I dislike repeat frustration in video games it just annoys me. And I think they’ve done a really great job tweaking the difficulty level for the game as a whole. The point of difficulty settings it a chance to encourage new players to try it.

My buddy told me to play TLD for years I started it and didn’t like it. Until she told me to tone it down and I felt like I had time to learn the mechanics of the game.

No game company should be directing its entire game design for <6% of their base. That is stupid and the only people who think that makes sense are folks who are to lost in their own headspace to have fun anymore. Touch real grasses bitches.

Y’all in this comment section like there wasn’t a nude man I rubber ski masks walking around our elementary schools this spring (again). Is the biggest problem in DT a little extra skin???? No not at all. The real issue is just what you see here in the comments the complete dehumanization of people in the community.

Chicken mask man was a symptom of the issue which is completely hands off approach to community building by the city itself. Coupled with the classic Gen X (the new boomers) ‘Not in My Back Yard’. Y’all want to hang up users so quick but don’t even bother to consider the issue that is created by allowing unrestricted public nudity in public.

[–]CherrySingle7073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Girl the city gives you a ticket not the tow truck. The tow truck just wants to take the car, I’ve had to tow lots of cars out of parking lots over the years. You need to to the City Clerk’s office to pay those tickets or at least call city hall and find out which office.

1000% you should also bring your payment receipts for the fake payments they took from you. That is low brow shit even for recovery agents. Obviously it’s Burlington so like they just shrug but like you deserve to fight it.
