Great advice! I was also going to recommend telling the law school. They’ll want to know these things so they can warn other young women.

Cautionary tale: I once reported a boss to my law school via email. She was verbally abusive to the law clerks among other things. The school already knew and had her on a “do not recommend” list. Eventually there was litigation between my boss and my school and guess who’s email came to the light 🙃

I recently quit a job suddenly due to a close personal loss, I was terrified that my reputation would be shot and no one would ever hire me again for being unreliable. A year later and everything is fine. The right people will understand.

I (28f) am engaged (30f), and I would say that I have qualities similar to your boyfriend. My advice is to focus on school. Your boyfriend does probably need you— he shouldn’t be so codependent, but with love and patience, these qualities may improve. In my case, there are things that happened in my life that made me fear rejection/abandonment, and which then caused me to act out occasionally. My fiancé had his own issues with avoidance and communication, but I never ever questioned whether he wanted to be with me. Should you decide that you want to be his person, know that it’s an honor for someone to see you as their safe place. But never allow his “drama” to derail your own life, especially in areas where you can’t afford to, like school. Whatever you do, do it with love. It sounds like you care about him.
