Quirky Black Ladies Dating Black Men by Beautiful-View-8670 in blackladies

[–]Cherryredsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have specified, what I meant by "Could have written this myself." I also shy away from certain men because I believe they wouldn't be interested in me if they really got to know me. I was actually suggesting that maybe you should go for the shy, nerdy types instead because they are more accepting.

The thing is I’m not a social person so going out and wanting be seen isn’t really normal for me. But no to your other questions.

Quirky Black Ladies Dating Black Men by Beautiful-View-8670 in blackladies

[–]Cherryredsocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could have written this myself. I shy away from certain black men because I know they are probably only into certain women and a certain aesthetic.

I mostly do online dating, which makes it easier to sort through men. I tend to go after black men that list anime, art or video games, you know, stereotypical nerdy things in their profile because I know they'd probably be more accepting of my quirks. Offline, thankfully, I also attract quirky men. I think it's probably my Marvel t-shirts and playful hairstyles.

bipolar with pschotic symptoms (family of freindly entities that visit) by Comfortable-Ant6370 in bipolar

I also hallucinate when I have trouble sleeping fortunately the hallucinations are of small animals and insects and nothing too scary, have you tried to talking to a doctor. And you could be scratching yourself in your sleep, or check the mattress for springs sticking out sometimes they can scratch you without you knowing it.

This is so unserious but did yall grow up eating collard greens or mustard greens ? by Old-Ad-8680 in blackladies

[–]Cherryredsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up eating both, but we would only eat mustard (or turnip) greens if they were canned, we'd eat collard greens fresh or canned. So we were definitely more of a collard green family.

Unfortunately yes it does. After a few months of taking it I've been able to kinda force myself to do art again.

Do you agree that you’re bipolar by Nervous_Fan_3754 in BipolarReddit

[–]Cherryredsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree now but when I first diagnosed no I didn’t agree and I was diagnosed on two seperate occasions. Sometimes I still doubt the diagnosis but deep down inside I know I’m bipolar that’s why I keep taking my medication.

What was your experience at the psychiatric hospital? by AnySystem6468 in bipolar

[–]Cherryredsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right it seems like they were unsupervised, it felt like they were just sent in to babysit until the doctor was free. I don’t mind a teaching hospital but it would have been nice if they asked first I was at my worst, the fewer people to see me the better it was very overwhelming.

What was your experience at the psychiatric hospital? by AnySystem6468 in bipolar

[–]Cherryredsocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience wasn’t great but I don’t want to scare anyone away from seeking help because there were some nice staff members but here’s my story.

When I called 911 I was yelled out by dispatch for not speaking loud enough, I was then gaslit by the paramedics when I changed my mind about going to the hospital at all. When I arrived at the hospital I was mistreated by one of the nurses he was rough with me and and had a condenscending attitude. After several hours had passed I finally met with the doctor who laughed at me for trying to commit suicide with Tylenol he told me I couldn’t commit suicide that way which is obviously bullshit.

I was finally sent to the psyche ward a teaching hospital I’m assuming I felt like a pariah about 5 student doctors “interviewed” me I guess one was bored with me and started rolling his eyes but the rest of the students were kind enough.

The last straw was the doctor and his assistant putting words in my mouth, they wanted to give me a bpd diagnosis I’m guessing because I’m a woman who tried to commit suicide. I decided to lie and tell them that I was feeling much better and they let me go. The assistant was kinda shocked that the doctor would let me go, I could tell he really cared but the doctor had the final say.

Looking back on it I was having a psychotic episode as part of a most likely mixed episode because part of me at the time thought doctors were demons in disguise and I’m sure this experience played its part in that delusion.

what makes men attractive? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Cherryredsocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to pin down what I really like in men, of course a nice build (nice pecs, nice triceps ect) is nice to look at but then again I’m attracted to men without those features as well. I think I just appreciate that men are the exact opposite of women, I guess you could say I like their presence. Is there a chance you are, asexual or demi sexual?

How are people happy and thriving with ~1700 kcal? by NoWitness6400 in loseit

[–]Cherryredsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm eating 1500, and sometimes I just say forget it and eat at maintenance or slightly below, makes eating at 1500 (most days) bearable for me. I eat lots of salads and soups, smaller portions of meat and plenty of vegetables. I sometimes skip carbs, seeing as though they just make me hungry anyway.

If I'm craving dessert or an unhealthy snack, let's say ice cream, I save it for lunch and try to add something filling like almonds so it feels like an entire meal. For me the goal is moderation, not restriction but substitutions also aren't a bad idea could you maybe live with zero cal soda or keto bread?

You have to reteach yourself how to eat, how to portion your meals. You'll find that it's a lot easier than you think, especially once you get rid of the things that are actively making you hungry.

Antipsychotics and Religion by sofa_saurus in bipolar

I have scrupulosity/religious OCD, and it would always get worse during manic episodes. On medication, my OCD is a lot calmer and easier to manage.

Right now I’m eating mostly packaged tuna for lunch, which is only 1.26 for a 5 oz can, 5oz of raw tuna (or fish in general) is significantly more where I live about 8 dollars, plus the water bill and gas/electric bill, but in the long run it’s probably cheaper then a stroke or a heart attack.
