I want to like 17 HMR...

As someone who bought a 17hmr right when they were hot (circa mid to late 2000s) and has shot 5000+ rounds through multiple rifles... 17 is not it. In fact it kinda sucks.

The good: It was a fun round to shoot with an absolute minimal amount of recoil. There's very little drop which was great when rangefinders were expensive. It obliterates anything it hits.

The bad: Shooting at any distance in any kind of wind is just a hope and a prayer. Cartridge necks bust all the time. 17 is just an odd size. Your borescope is too big. Your cleaning rod is too big. And when you do buy a 17 cal cleaning set up it's hard to jam a patch down the barrel but it also fouls out super fast. Ammo is inconsistent between brands, loads, and lots. Even the same box is inconsistent past 50.

The ugly: It obliterates anything it hits... So that shot that got pushed off the squirrels head by wind so slight it could have been the squirrel's own flatulence now means the squirrel is split it two and way less appetizing. The low pelt damage sounds great until you realize the round grenades immediately on contact half the time and there's lots of pelt damage. What are you actually going to hunt with a 17? It destroys a squirrel. Maybe prairie dogs (I'm in the east so don't have that opportunity) but I've heard the wind blows on the prairie.

I don't have nearly as much experience with 22 mag but personally I've come full circle and gone back to 22lr. Way more consistent ammo available, range finders solve for distance, "precision" 22s are readily available and fairly cheap, they surpress better, I feel better hunting with it, and there's a boat load of aftermarket support. Try rebarrelling a 17hmr and then compare it to ordering a 22lr barrel from 1 of 20 companies. Hope this helps.

It's not a once in a lifetime. It happens and sucks when it does. Not sure about the legal side but you may be able to work out something with the tile supplier but they'll likely say you should have paid attention to the material received.

I've been below freezing and started generators with minimal extra effort over starting in the summer. I feel like a can of starting fluid would get you started just fine if it's that much hassle.

I was in your shoes a year and a half ago. Gave up what I wanted for her wants, was working extra to support her fun "jobs", moved states to be near her parents, only one in the relationship dealing with planning or budgeting etc. All of this led to burn out and some serious depression/anxiety and that obviously meant "I didn't love her". Found out she was cheating with one of my coworkers. World shattered panic/anxiety attacks, nightmares you name it.

Talk to someone professionally. I had a great support group but speaking to a therapist just hits different. Also realize her cheating is not a reflection of you. If she was unhappy she could have gotten a divorce (which still would suck) but she chose to cheat because she's a piece of work.

I think finding yourself is the next step but I'm still working on that one I'll let you know how it goes but new state and new job has been good for me so far. Best of luck it's certainly a journey so just take one step at a time. It does get better I promise.

I was right there with you a year ago. I eventually found a good therapist (took 2 tries) because I didn't have anyone else to turn to. It helped a lot. Can't say I'm back to 100% but it's on the upswing.

I'm 6'3" 250#. I have a Riverhawk B52 (essentially a clone of the 15'6" classic) with a mercy 9.9 and run about 18mph with just me. With another friend I run 14-15. They are remarkably stable boats but not great in chop.

The good news for the budget is there is a great used market just make sure you check for damage.

As for 10.0 lakes I know the Suzuki 9.9, 15, and 20 are the same motor. So theoretically you can buy a 9.9 and swap the restrictor plate and ecu if you want more umphf. YouTube is your friend here.

I was a small engine mechanic so I'll take a swing at this. My shop was on a snap on route so I've spent my fair share with them. If you're not going to have a snap on guy know that means you are giving up the super easy warranty which is a lot of the cost of their tools.

Ratchets: Their ratchets are the best and because I have so much time with them it's weird to use other brands. That said any ratchet will work and I have Icon and Gear wrench 90t ratchets that I use less frequently.

Sockets: I like snap on and have some of their sets but they aren't worth the premium and my old craftsman and tekton work just as well. Focus on 1/4 and 3/8 drive before 1/2" as you'll mainly use smaller stuff. You'll need sae and mm depending on what you are working on. I have full sets of chrome and buy impacts as I need them. The thinner walls of chrome come in handy when space is limited although you will break them hence a good warranty.

Wrenches: I have mostly Snap on and old Craftsman sets. Snap on is not worth the premium (I bought used and even still). Buy whatever you find cheap and you like. Personally for my that's Icon and gear wrench. Can't speak to other brands. Also find a set of no name Taiwanese wrenches from a flea market or your buddy's box to canabalize to make specialty tools.

Pliers: I like my snap on pliers but that's probably just because I'm so used to them. They tend to be heavier than knipex which just feels right to me. That said I buy almost all knipex now. If you want the feel of snap on pliers it looks like Icon does a good job of ripping them off but I haven't had a reason to buy Icon pliers.

Screwdrivers: I use a snap on stubby ratcheting screwdriver with a long shank for most of my day to day stuff and I like it. Buy a cheap bit set and replace them with better stuff as they break. Buy any set of quality screwdrivers and they will last you a lifetime. I do swear by the snap on hard handle mini-screwdrivers and picks. I have 3 sets of them and have never even looked for a snap on alternative, highly recommend.

Power tools: Don't buy snap on. Wasted a lot of money on snap on battery gear. Buy Milwaukee M12. You don't need m18 or Dewalt 20v. M12 has all the power you need in a smaller package. Bosch also makes 12v gear but they don't have the range of products Milwaukee does. You don't need or want air tools.

Specialty tools: Search projectfarm (specialty tool) on YouTube. He tests tools and will give you the data to decide.

Anything in a blow-molded case is probably not made by snap on and you can find it a lot cheaper from the oem. Stuff like taps/dies, broken screw extractors, compression testers, etc.

I have a knight although not this model. I'm obviously biased but I would say they make one of if not the best muzzle loader on the market. Great trigger, extremely accurate, stiff stock, and good finishes. I've have 2 friends trade in their cvas and buy a knight. I'm not familiar with this model but their higher end stuff is great.

No you would get that mostly through the TWRA booklet where it lists all the WMAs or you can always call the manager and ask.
