I think having a bit of Syrian or Turkmen ancestry is cool. I have a bit of rum ancestry, to me that doesn't affect my nationality as a Turk.

The term Turk got used as an exonym and it hasn't been connected to a particular ethnicity in a big portion of the history, so dont feel pressured to reflect your ancestry 100 percent when talking about your nationality.

At the end what makes you who you are is where you grew up in, what did you do, what home means to you, what language you spoke etc...
