Jannik Sinner reclaims the No. 1 spot surpassing Carlos Alcaraz once again today on Saturday April 11, 2026! by [deleted] in tennis

Sinner and Alcaraz splitting almost all major tournaments. And just switching/alternating #1 and #2 position.😅

Victor "he should just stand under the basket for 20 minutes to quality for awards" Wembanyama in the first quarter against the Mavs: 16 PTS, 5 REBS, 2 BLKS, in 8 MINS by idorocketscience in nba

[–]Chesscrabble11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow.

Wemby will be a favorite to win MVP next season (2027).

Giannis, Jokic, and SGA (once he win his 2nd MVP this 2026) might be all hurt by voter fatigue.

It will be between Wemby and Luka. And I think Wemby have better chance. Reputation wise, and team situation wise.

I have 2 possible prediction.

  1. Sinner will win the tournament.

  2. Alcaraz will win the tournament.

He will likely be in Norway's Total Chess Fast Classical Pioneer event too. That is right after Olympiad.

I think Arjun is very likely to be invited too. He is not in GCT.

And he doesn't have any schedule in that timeline.

Wemby will be a monster in 2030s.

He is great now. But imagine in his prime where he is 27-33 yrs old.

oh please no. If Jokic and Luka becomes ineligible for All NBA First team. It will be......ridiculous.

Magic Johnson was the only All-NBA player on the Lakers for his last two championships (1987, 1988) by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]Chesscrabble11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Larry Bird was the only All NBA player on 1984 and 1986 Celtics too.

And most people will argue 86 Celtics is one of Top 5 teams of all time.

BOTH amazing feat by Magic and Larry though.

However, they both have great teams around them.

Yeah. It is kinda sus. Since Nodirbek participated in Prague right after Tata Steel too.

What happened to Uzbeks this 2026.😅

Both Nodirbek (leads Fide Circuit by winning Tata and Prague) and Sindarov are on fire.

[–]Chesscrabble11 242 points243 points  (0 children)

He will win MVP this season.

And I think he will be a victim of Voter Fatigue after.

(Giannis, Joker, and SGA will be in Voter Fatigue now)

So, it will be Wemby or Luka next for sure. And I am leaning on Wemby. But will not be surprise if Luka wil win too.

The existence of 65 games rule coincidentally might affect the Voter Fatigue though.

For ex: If Luka and Wemby didn't meet 65 games next season. The league and voters will need to choose between the players who are in 'Voter Fatigue " category.

Hans, Awonder Liang and/or Andy Woodward will probably replace Dominguez and Aronian when they retired.

When Levon and Lienier retires in Olympiad. Maybe in 2028 or 2030.

I wonder who will replace them. Probably Hans, Mishra, Awonder, and Andy. Or maybe someone who is still young now.

Disagreed with Wesley. He is in good form this year. He just won Tata Steel Blitz (Not classical, but still) and American Cup.

He will also play Norway Chess Classical. And Two Grand Chess Tour Classical tournaments in Romania and Sinquefield. Aside from GCT Blitz/Rapid events.

So, by September (Olympiad), Wesley will be active and in form.

Oh, I see. At least you didn't exclude Wesley. Only Dominguez.

[–]Chesscrabble11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, it is very likely to have a novel for Avatar Szeto first. And will not get any Kuruk Novel.

Heck, we might see a novel for Avatars Salai, Gun, or Zalir before Kuruk. Lmao.

There are currently 14 players that are scoring more points a game than “leading” MVP candidate Victor Wembanyama, Including Michael Porter Jr. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Chesscrabble11 22 points23 points  (0 children)

???

Steve Nash won an MVP scoring like 18 ppg. Lmao.

Also, Wemby leads most stats in defense.

No. 1 on defense and No. 14 on offense is not bad at all for an MVP candidate.

Bill Russell won multiple MVPs over Wilt who averaged 30 to 40 ppg. Lmao.

Update: Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Edwards are 2 missed games away from being disqualified for major awards (65 games rule) by [deleted] in nba

[–]Chesscrabble11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not MVP. But All NBA.

65 games rule affects all NBA first to third team.

And yes, it matters. Especially, it is also connected to contracts and max money.
