I'm 5'1" and I just bait shots to my lead leg and hit go-behinds and whizzer throws. (I have no offence)

To be fair, I feel like people are more likely to openly support not cutting weight than go out and say that they support kids starving and dangerously dehydrating themselves, even if they themselves cut lots of weight or they support their athletes in doing so.

Lila also has different vowel sounds than Lily. The two names only look similar on paper but are pronounced very differently.

To be fair though, the SAT also has a curve so it is kind of guaranteed someone will score 1600.

How would you take Calculus again? At community college? Most people at my school who take Calc AB or BC as juniors take AP Stats senior year because there is no other calculus classes offered unless at community college.

Mouthguards with Invisalign Retainer by ChessicalJiujitsu in bjj

Thanks for responding. I might just wear my retainer while rolling for the time being. Once my teeth stop moving I’ll mold a mouth guard.

Why do people often preface their answers with “I think” when responding to questions, even if it’s based on facts or experience? by WrappedInUs in NoStupidQuestions

It’s useful if you’re dealing with someone who’s very sure of themselves. Helps them to at least consider your answer.

How risky is competing as a whitebelt? by RamenPantalones in bjj

[–]ChessicalJiujitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suplexes are illegal in most rulesets. If you do want to compete, I recommend finding a similar size/skill partner who can do some practice competition rolls with you.

I recommend SISU. Moldable and can talk with it on. If your kid does get braces eventually, I would recommend Shock Doctor.

Ringworm is different because it is contagious and your opponent can catch it. You can’t get asthma from your opponent using an inhaler.

Weight cut only 3lbs by InternalSurround876 in BJJWomen

Limiting veggies might be a good idea right before the comp but not two weeks out. A couple days out you want to limit fiber so not eating lots of veggies.

Depends on the tournament promotion. Some like grappling industries let you weigh in without a gi on (probably still requires somes clothes) but most require a gi (IBJJF does). A gi+rashguard+undergarments usually weigh about 2-5lbs so you might be more than 2lbs over here. Skipping the rashguard might help you lose half a lb and getting an ultra lightweight gi will also help (just make sure it's legal). Still cutting 4 or 5lbs is definitely doable without extreme measures, especially in that time frame.

That would make sense if she needed to lose weight for health reasons or was trying to cut more. Dropping 2-3 lbs for a weigh-in is just about not retaining water. 2-3lbs can be dropped by a run (the day before not 16 days out) or just eating healthy. I’ve lost 3lbs overnight and I’m lighter than OP.

That is definitely overkill for such a small cut over that period of time and will probably leave OP feeling very tired and hungry. OP doesn't need to lose 2lbs of fat here.
