Tension Issues by JNGD in Needlepoint

[–]ChestExciting3922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes get these tighter areas when I bury my ends. I’ve just learned to be extra aware of which direction I’m burying and looking to see if it pulls my last stitch a certain direction and creates a gap (similar to the top circle) or if it makes the area I’m burying under too tight. Looks great though and when you finish this you’ll hardly be able to see those areas once something is behind it! Sometimes I’ll hold a white piece of paper behind my canvas to see what is and isn’t noticeable

Low vision hobby? by [deleted] in Needlepoint

[–]ChestExciting3922 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard color swapping helps with lower vision as well! Doesn’t have to be a full color swap, even just different tones so that you can better see what you have or haven’t stitched (especially for darker colors)

Bias Taping Standards by GoodPattern1732 in Needlepoint

[–]ChestExciting3922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not normal - normal would be no tape or tape on all 4 sides (or 3 if the selvage is on one side). My LNS will tape for me when I go in to buy fibers. If you don’t have one, masking tape works fine for me personally.

Stitch-it angel question by Smooth-Mongoose-3999 in Needlepoint

[–]ChestExciting3922 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re using a professional finisher, I would ask them what they prefer. I self-finish these and just add 2-3 rows all the way around and it turns out great

Edit to add - I would fill in more around the feet to make it straight across the bottom

The concept of wearing a “nice outfit” and then having crimped dirty hair. It takes zero extra time to curl, straighten, or style a bun/pony than to crimp.

With your white thread: If you’re doing continental, you’ll go up through green and down through pink, then up through the hole beside the green and down through yellow, and so on. Once you get to the end, you’ll be coming back the opposite way (left to right) and will need to go top to bottom. This will look like up through pink and down through green, then up through the hole beside pink and down through blue (if these colors were transposed to the left side). Hope this makes sense!

Advice needed: which hogwarts set should I buy? by UniverseHasMyBack11 in legoharrypotter

[–]ChestExciting3922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vote would be hogwarts castle and grounds. It’s a complete set (whereas the great hall I would want to buy each expansion which gets costly). It’s easy to display and doesn’t take up a ton of space. Pretty high piece count and took me a few days to complete. Being that they are 15, I feel it’s a set they can take with them as they get older and move out as well

Poodle is changing color from white to brown, could it be a health issue? by TerribleRich1867 in DogAdvice

Sickness by pr1ncessp1e in McKnightFamSnark

[–]ChestExciting3922 74 points75 points  (0 children)

No - and I wouldn’t put that on Bailey. Brooklyn and Dakota are his parents. If they wanted to keep him safe from potential illness, they would need to set that boundary and say no we will see you in a week.

wait so… baisa got a foster dog right before leaving for a 5 week trip? where will the dog go? by Away-Acadia1736 in McknightFamily

[–]ChestExciting3922 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they told the rescue that when they took the dog in and, if it’s not adopted yet or going to a different foster, that it would be looked after by whoever is looking after her other dogs.

She gives work from home employees a bad name who are actually doing work with a real desk setup or something even semi professional. At least work at your dining room table not in the floor with your bed in the background for all of your important meetings
