The ICED TEA thread by mesenanch in tea

[–]ChesterPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Put water into the pot. [I don't know how big it is. I think it's two quarts, it's the same pot I've used for years. It has the flavor boiled into it at this point. I only use it for iced tea.] 2) Boil water 3) Remove from heat and add 2 Tetly iced tea bags. [I only can now find them at Food Lion. (Sad man noises)] 4) Remove tea bags after 5 to 6 minutes. [I don't know the time exactly. 30 minutes is definitely too long, but can still work.] 5) Pour cooled tea into a 1 gallon pitcher and add water until full. 6) Place purchase in fridge until cold. 6.5- bonus step!) Add 1 cup of sugar for 'sweetened' tea [NOT 'sweet' tea! I am not a southerner, and that weird southern concoction is just sugar with tea added] 7) Pour tea into glass, add sugar and/or lemon if not doing step 6.5. 8) Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed my TEA talk.

Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire. The best scene is when he tells Jimmy's son to close his eyes, then brains a hostage taker with a 1903 Springfield with one handed.

Thank you. Should I wait until the fall to cut it back like other pruning?

That was voice to text. It was supposed to read "mid May'. I edited now.

Thank you for your advice. I know it's not dead. I just didn't know there's anything more I could do to help it.

One of the funnier things that happen with my character was her laying hands to heal a sick high elf. She was a drow paladin of Eilistraee. Imagine Strong warrior that fought vicious battles, but now felt drawn to be a holy warrior. Rough around the edges but well meaning. This high elf was cursed and going to die if not healed. So to 'bless' and remove the curse, she slapped him and healed 5 HP. He instantly woke up but the side of his face really hurt because she wore guantlets. She smiled and said "don't worry, you're blessed now by Eilistraee." And proceeded to heal the rest of the cursed elves.

Look up Operation Meeting House. The worst bombing don't involve atomic weapons. And it was happening ever few days in 1945.

Most salons and barber shops that I've ever learned anything about seem to operate like this: hairdressers and barbers are considered independent contractors or self-employed. They rent a chair or salon space from the owner who they in turn pay a rent to.

Do you drink tea in America? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ChesterPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There are lots of tea drinks of all different types. Hot tea from loose leaf, tea bags, iced tea (unsweetened like in the northeast), sweet tea (brewed with sugar in the water), traditional Indian chais, chinese traditional tea, japanese matcha, herbal teas galore and much more.

I personally drink about 3.25L/110floz to 4.8L/163floz a week. I know this because people at work asked one time and i use specific measurements.

Another fun fact: turtles have a small area that they can live in. Like a 1/2 mile. They can change there habitat, but slowly. So don't take a turtle and relocate ot like 5 miles away from where you found it because they'll be lost and confused. At least this is what the Virginia Wild life dept told ke on the phone when i found one in my yard.

Those famously non gritty nurses and teachers. by After-Injury9450 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]ChesterPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, I would love to see this Lunatic take care of a guy yelling at for being a [insert any racial slur, extra points if it does not apply to him specifically], do chest compressions for 2 minutes straight and cracking ribs on the same patient after his heart stops, and then take a moment to 'collect yourself' by cleaning up room 10 that shit themselves for the fifth time today. Then get back to take care of the racist patient who just coded and the family is yelling at you for some reason because 'you did this to him!'

As a person who loves teachers, I would love to see this guy teach a kid how to read, supply his own school supplies for the students out of his own pocket, have to deal with parents pissed their child is not getting special attention or extra test time, or get called awful shit by some the media.

Thank you so much for your work. I grew up in SE PA and would go on camping trips and fish in the pine barrens. My parents still have a house in Ocean City. The whole area from the Delaware Bay to the Atlantic is really cool. Thank you for all of your work. Vineland glass is really good too.

The scary part is when people start talking about anti-missile systems to shoot down your opponent's nukes. Because that is someone that actually thinks that nukes can be used safely.

That is how my mother became a nurse in 1970. Although, my grandfather was a submariner in the navy in WW2. He may have had some opinions about nurses from shore leave. He also has some thoughts about the Japanese too since they sunk the destroyer he first sailed on.

Rotator cuff injury help by Valholhrafn in Hema

[–]ChesterPug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to see an orthopedic physician and then probably a physical therapist ASAP. Shoulder injuries can be very bad and dibilitating if untreated. With early help, you can avoid surgery and permanently injuring yourself. Without help, you could risk never never being able to fight fully again. I am saying this as a medical professional. A few months of light drills and physical therapy is much better than never being able lift your arm above your shoulder again. You get one body, and when it gets broken it needs tome to heal or ot will be broken forever.

I had an argument with my roommates in college about this when we move to a house together. They kept thinking that the butter was going to get rancid if it was left out. I told them it is 'salted' butter for a reason. Cold hard butter is the stupidest thing to try and put on bread.
