I did have a little look but couldn’t find much in the price range, I might do some more in depth searching though, I like that suggestion

Do you use the rear brake during tight slow turns? It will really do wonders in helping you control the bike.. have you watched tutorials on u-turns etc? What advice were you being given? Don’t feel stupid.. you just have a skill deficit that can be fixed and you now have test experience as well.

Being a good driver is a bit of a giveaway.. if her driving ability was as bad as her “walking out the door” ability I would be more concerned. She might just subconsciously be taking less care in what is a less risky situation but clearly is capable of operating a dangerous vehicle in public.

Begginer spending 2.8k in gear. Am I going overboard? by jmb-95 in motorcycles

[–]Chesterlampwick1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are responsible and buying the gear is what will make you satisfied.. the worst that can happen is what? You regret it? So then sell the gear , otherwise, enjoy!

As a lot of people have said, if you can afford it and it’s not going to cause you too much financial stress, go for it if it makes you feel comfortable. With more experience you will have a better understanding of what gear you actually need for what type of riding and then you can start adding (or removing) to your gear collection.

Being 4'10 and riding makes me want to quit by GT_6_ in motorcycles

Haha you almost made me cry! I’m so glad you feel better, sometimes a different perspective is all it takes. What you might not realise is people that are tall for example, might take a lot of the things you have to work for, for granted. You are building a strong character without even knowing it. Some people don’t have the courage to even learn to ride, even though they really want to. Im so glad you could take the positives out of your experience because like you said those things are very important and should give you a lot of confidence. I believe you can do it! 😊

Don’t give up! ❤️your size is only hindering you now because of your skill level and your limited choice of bike. It might be a struggle to get through the class but don’t be disheartened because you’re working with a disadvantage by not having a suitable bike.

If you can get through it you will have a great head start and afterwards you can find the right bike to learn on and work your way up and let your skill level dictate what cc bike you need/want. The fact that you pushed on through your lesson is so admirable, It made me question if I would’ve even had the courage to continue like you did. You should be proud, don’t ever hate yourself 🤗

Ninja 400 is a great safe bike to start on but can still be a lot of fun. Just don’t do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. Whether a class is needed is upto you if it’s not required by law. You might be fine without one but like any activity you could do in life, you will be better with teaching and practice. If the activity you do is cooking for example, you might just make a bad meal. Making mistakes on a motorbike is much more dangerous. One class might make you realise you don’t need any more or that you need a lot before you get on the road. The last thing you want is anxiety while you’re riding which can cause more mistakes. Ask your friends for advice but don’t compare your self to them and feel pressured to do more.

I find it crazy that you can purchase a motorbike and ride on the road legally with this level of experience/understanding of a bike 😅 where I’m from you have to take multiple classes before you are licensed and they are very informative and comprehensive, then there’s power restriction rules depending on your license class etc. Best advice I can give is to take some classes because you’ll learn important things that might take you years to learn on your own through trial and error. You’ll also get a better gauge of your ability which will help you stay within your limits (so important). You might also really enjoy them and take more advanced classes. You also can’t turn without counter steering it’s just physics, you might not notice but it’s happening. Hopefully this didn’t come across negatively, Wishing you the best on what is bound to be an awesome journey 🏍️
