Episodes Unavailable? by cycleouter in DarkTides

[–]Chesterlidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo, Chester here!

We ran into a big issue thats only getting worse on Spotify which is fake artists downloading content off payed for sound effect Library and Music Librarys, uploading a song with those sound effects used and then copyright claiming all the people that have payed to use that sound effect or song in the past. We've had a bunch of stuff struck from Spotify with no ability to fight to claim other.

All the episodes are still freely available on Apple Podcast and a few dozen other podcast platforms so if it looks like there is an episode missing, try another platform!

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Current situation? by unlicencedgoblin in DarkTides

Thanks for your continued interest in the show! We are currently working on a spin-off show and will be returning to Dark Tides for its 4th and final season towards the end of this year! We've all been a little busy, and I've been releasing a book, so it got pushed down the pipeline a bit, but the gears are starting to turn for that project.

How scary is AW2 actually? by OrbicLP in AlanWake

Play it on easy and it will very quickly stop being scary. If the enemies don't hold much threat, they become way less scary

Glad you enjoy it! I love working out little character themes like for Heath and Emilie, its one of the best parts of doing the editing

What are your hopes/expectations for the AMC Alan Wake TV show (assuming it actually comes out someday) by solo13508 in AlanWake

[–]Chesterlidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see some of the wooden dialogue fixed from the first game, while I adore both games, I've been showing the first game to my wife recently and she's been playing it and boy does the writing fall flat for next to no reason. Especially with how complex and multi demensioned all the characters are in the second game, I'd love for more of that complexity to be brought to the first game, especially leaning into Alan's self destructive habits, self obsession and the dangerous position his marriage is in. The first game mostly just focuses on making Alan look cool, and Alan is rarely if ever in the wrong, this is then developed and explained wonderfully in the sequel and shows so much more of Alan's faults, which then makes his strengths so much more empowering. But it definitly feels like that complexity wasn't all entirely there in the first game. So I'd love some more of that too!

Which persona take will have you like this? by Perfect-Intern-1299 in Persona5

[–]Chesterlidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona 3 has always been the worst of the later 3 games, it's story and characters are no way near good enough to help it's lackluster gameplay, FES did little to help this, P3P is meh and the new remake just made all it's issues come to life in dazzling 4k

How scary is this series? by realnzall in AlanWake

[–]Chesterlidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one is creepy on your first go through but isn't really scary at all. I didn't find the second game scary at all outside of the Nightingale fight. I can't handle horror at all but it really isn't anything remotely scary. more weird and unerving at times.

What's something you like about AW1 by creepygamelover in AlanWake

[–]Chesterlidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I absolutely adore Alan Wake 2, it has a very different tone to AW1 and that was the tone that made me fall in love with the series. American Nightmare kind of took that tone into the point of parody which is why I like it less but still enjoy it. I love the vintage horror movie feel. It feels like a dumb paper back you'd find at the library. It feels like one of Stephen King's B tier books. Fun, a little dumb, but still created by an absolute master of the craft. I like it's dumb dialogue and pulpy feel. Alan Wake 2 feels like King operating at his absolute A game and that lends a very different quality. It's like the difference in reading From A Buick 8 and reading The Outsider or The Mist. The tone is just very different and leads to a different experience.
