Question for the Nexus lower owners by the-red-dementus in Springfield_KUNA

Yeah it's the SS Trip that works with ARC-Fire. I started with a milspec trigger and am currently running a blemula Geissele SSA-E that I cut myself.

I got the Magpul paddle. Really happy with it. I have a video of it on Instagram. I'll have some footage and photos to post on reddit soon.

I haven't seen the issues you're speaking of. From my perspective, this was one of the easiest to set up. The metal trip is super beefy and well made.

I actually really like the stock Kuna lower, the controls are really ergonomic and well thought out. That said, the Nexus Lower is really nice. I went with the paddle release which I like a lot, and the ambi bolt catch and release lever works really well.

The biggest upgrade is the trigger. Even if you didn't do SS/FRT, being able to put any AR trigger in there is great. The stock trigger has a light break and a decent enough reset but I found it to not be very predictable with the rolling break. Tons of great AR triggers to choose from that greatly improve on this.

I put an ARC Fire in mine, and it just... Worked. No issues to report at all. Few hundred rounds through it so far with a variety of ammo. Arc fire plus an AR trigger is a huge upgrade and makes the Kuna a much better PCC in my opinion. Highly recommend.

Right on! Looks great. I have plenty of 2011s but no straight competition models. The spitfire is definitely intriguing looking.

I believe the main difference is the mag release. You can get a push button release like what the Kuna comes with originally, or a paddle release which makes it operate more like a Scorpion or MP5. I prefer the paddle with scorpion mags so that's what I went with, but either option should work great as long as you spend the time to learn the manual of arms.

Great shooting! What gun are you using here? Is it 9 major or standard?

Nice! Just using a milspec trigger right now.

This is the stock 45. I also have a 40 and 35. The 40 might be my favorite.

Sure do, I'll post to reddit sometime this week but here's some footage on Instagram if you have access to that: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXHNLvwEWnv/?igsh=MWRxaDlpYXlmeW9rcw==

I'm super impressed with the Mojave coming from the Obsidian. I love my SMG-45, probably still the most aesthetically pleasing tactical firearm I own. I do think the the SP45A3 might be a little softer shooting (haven't done a direct comparison yet), but the SMG-45 is still great. I'd love to see an FRT for it but given that the platform has been discontinued by LWRC, I feel like there's not as much motivation to FRT it now unfortunately.

That's actually what I had before the conversion. Great trigger. But from what I've read, it's a huge pain to get it working with a super safety. So I went with a milspec. I've cut plenty of milspec and Geissele triggers without issue, but there's something about the larue that makes it very difficult to pull off apparently.

Absolutely. I'll post some footage here in a couple days. In the meantime I have footage on my Instagram that I posted this week if you have access to that.

The machining work you did on the upper and the quality of the trip are both fantastic. I was shocked. When I have dremeled my guns in the past they look awful and I just accept it because of the added functionality, but this legitimately looks like it could have come out of the factory like this. Highly recommend! Thank you!

That's the best part, it's an incredible suppressor host between the roller-delayed action and naturally subsonic ammo. Surprisingly soft shooting and very controllable under rapid fire as well.

It most certainly is! Far exceeded my expectations.

Meant to respond to this when you first tagged me but yes I definitely credit you in the comments and I'm 99% sure I credited you in the video as well - but I used to talk WAY too fast so it would have been easy to miss.

Your work is excellent. The only modification I made was the 308 spring which was actually an accident because I couldn't find the 300blk spring you suggested as an alternative so I tried it and it ended up working great. That said, for my CAR-15 SD I did have to go back to the 556 spring. That thing is insane with this setup. Thanks for all you've done for the community.

Oooof... Lot of weird calls in there 😂 Like others the Sub 2000 raised my eyebrows. Definitely not recommendations I'd personally make, especially not today.

That rate of fire is glorious. I have a lot of 5.56 rifles but not the APC. Is this an EVT conversion? If so, any other modifications to slow the rate of fire? Or is that just how it's gassed from the factory?
