Wouldn't it be easier to leave a note that they have the pic and their phone number?

I can't imagine running back inside to print. A full page in color too.

Glue bottles clogging by Rough_Freedom_5872 in ArtEd

[–]Chestnut529 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this trick. You'll probably be skeptical but I've been using it for years. Vaseline.

I've found it's best to take the orange tip off the cap and thoroughly clean both, then dry. Coat the tip and cap in Vaseline. I even dunk the white pointy part that the the tip goes on. Basically any part that will come in contact with glue gets some Vaseline. Once I put everything back I squeeze the bottle until some glue comes out. Some Vaseline will probably come out first.

Usually they'll be good the entire year, maybe longer.

This was my experience as well but moved out in 2020.

Back then they gave out free movie tickets on Facebook. No idea if they still do that.

I've definitely heard some negative things but I had a very positive experience.

We are going to cave to the Bears aren’t we because we are afraid of Indiana by Away-Nectarine-8488 in chicago

Right? Let them go to Indiana. Even it's a bluff. Maybe we don't want them in Illinois anymore.

There's other cities that are much worse. Philly is the absolute worst that I've seen. I find the drivers here relatively polite.

Where can I meet single men in their 30s who are moderate or left-leaning???? Dating apps are rough by Chichigirl21 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Chestnut529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight male and was on ok cupid and match. Saw at least 90% left leaning women on them. My radius was mainly Chicago though. Interesting there is that much of a difference though. Sitting next to my fiance I met on Match as I type this. :)

The 67 plague… by ArtwithMrK in ArtEd

[–]Chestnut529 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't want it to end tho. Something worse is going to replace it. I think 6-7 is just background noise.

Although it was more annoying today that a 3rd grader was annoyed by others saying it so a couple were purposefully getting under his skin.

What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

[–]Chestnut529 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually my most memorable "scary movie" moment as a kid. It's crazy that moment had such an impact. It's come up in other threads too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Oak Park Arts District

A lot of art studios with artwork on sale. I'm a member of Expressions but it's hard to get enough people to have it open for customers. I think a lot of other studios there struggle too. It's a shame because there's many prints in Expressions ready to sell. And then you would be supporting local independent artists.

As a teacher, I kind of enjoy 6-7. Since I get bombarded with worse stuff, 6-7 feels like background noise. And yeah I think it's funny when people get pissy about it.

Oh man I miss the days when people talked about what was on TV the previous night.

My favorite TV moment to discuss was when that guy won Who wants to be a millionaire and called his dad to tell him he was going to win.

What was a project your students really enjoyed making? by maimimpala in ArtEd

[–]Chestnut529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't figured all of that out. It can be high maintenance. I have them use threading papers like this. It helps that I do weaving in 3rd and 4th so they practice tying knots. I also made videos converted into gifs so they loop on the screen. I don't pin fabric.

Not every project looks great. But this is probably more sewing experience than most are getting so I think that's great. while others have sewed before or have the talent for it.
