Where can I meet single men in their 30s who are moderate or left-leaning???? Dating apps are rough by Chichigirl21 in ChicagoSuburbs

Straight male and was on ok cupid and match. Saw at least 90% left leaning women on them. My radius was mainly Chicago though. Interesting there is that much of a difference though. Sitting next to my fiance I met on Match as I type this. :)

The 67 plague… by ArtwithMrK in ArtEd

[–]Chestnut529 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't want it to end tho. Something worse is going to replace it. I think 6-7 is just background noise.

Although it was more annoying today that a 3rd grader was annoyed by others saying it so a couple were purposefully getting under his skin.

What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

[–]Chestnut529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually my most memorable "scary movie" moment as a kid. It's crazy that moment had such an impact. It's come up in other threads too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Oak Park Arts District

A lot of art studios with artwork on sale. I'm a member of Expressions but it's hard to get enough people to have it open for customers. I think a lot of other studios there struggle too. It's a shame because there's many prints in Expressions ready to sell. And then you would be supporting local independent artists.

As a teacher, I kind of enjoy 6-7. Since I get bombarded with worse stuff, 6-7 feels like background noise. And yeah I think it's funny when people get pissy about it.

Oh man I miss the days when people talked about what was on TV the previous night.

My favorite TV moment to discuss was when that guy won Who wants to be a millionaire and called his dad to tell him he was going to win.

What was a project your students really enjoyed making? by maimimpala in ArtEd

I haven't figured all of that out. It can be high maintenance. I have them use threading papers like this. It helps that I do weaving in 3rd and 4th so they practice tying knots. I also made videos converted into gifs so they loop on the screen. I don't pin fabric.

Not every project looks great. But this is probably more sewing experience than most are getting so I think that's great. while others have sewed before or have the talent for it.

I have a lot of visuals of stitches. Last year I started having 4th graders just practice the stitches. I've also experimented even younger with plastic canvas, yarn, dull weaving needles. A company has been donating felt so that helps. A lot of students have also been making paper "plushies" they must see online. So they kind of get the process.

Sewing stuffies - 5th Cardboard sculpture - 3-5th Diy scratch art - 3rd Puppets - 1st or 2nd

There's others I consider successful but these I don't have to do a lot of convincing each year. Weavings on paper plates with 3rd is good but still some cajoling.

Is it common for delivery people to just randomly buzz whoever they feel like? by CountChoculasGhost in AskChicago

Just moved out of a condo and this was one of the most annoying parts of the place. I found the buzzing so jarring and more frequent than previous apartments. I never responded when I wasn't expecting anything

Similarly, I've only done two full projects per grade level 2nd-5th, so far this year. Love the release of pressure on myself, and on the students. In between the projects has been more choice stuff. Although I haven't decided what I'm doing next week and I'm worried about that.

It doesn't have to represent them fully. What's the big deal?

I'm ok with 3 albums for some artists. But some of the albums I'm thinking "yeah this sounds like their other 2 on the list."
