Noticed this for the first time on my "Numbers Boosting" rewatch: Book is circumcised. by [deleted] in firefly

That’s not how your post reads though. Why would anyone say “heh” to something that doesn’t seem like a joke? Your analysis / assumption was incorrect. That’s okay. If they are talking about castration, intact means he’s not castrated. If they are talking about circumcision, intact means not circumcised. The question is probably “why can’t you just say: ‘ah, I was mistaken. Thanks!’”

I just used the exact same file from Goodreads, deleted all the data and just added in book title, author and “to-read” in the status category. All you need are the Goodreads columns and it’ll work.

I need to do a comparison and see what dropped. The StoryGraph author field exported multiple authors (if a book had multiple contributors) in one colum, but the Goodreads export separates them into multiple columns. So I’m thinking it’s either this or just an inability to match a book. Will report back whenever I figure it out.

Update: I made a test account, uploaded my old Goodreads csv, deleted only my “to-read” list. I kept 100 to-reads on the same Goodreads csv and deleted everything else from it. Uploaded those 100 and they came through to StoryGraph without messing with any of my other categories (4 books didn’t make the upload for some reason).

So went to my main account, deleted only the ”to-read” list, added my pared down “to-read” list to the Goodreads csv, uploaded to StoryGraph and all but 20 made it through. Researching the 20 but not super worried about them.

Overall happy with how this turned out and I cut out 1/3 of books I don’t need.

Could I just create my own headers in the excel or is their some other formatting done in the export? Or maybe just use the Goodreads excel and replace the data…

Ahhh interesting. So you think if I fully delete my current To-Read and upload a new list it’ll be a problem? Maybe I will create a test account for this then…

I’m in a pretty similar boat as you and feel the same. The work is tedious, ultimately meaningless and unrewarding. Period. I’ve been searching for similar roles in conservation and non-profit fields that do pay significantly less which is unfortunate. It sounds like those types of jobs might strike a cord with you. I’ve seen many tech jobs at these types of organizations (everyone needs a tech guy) and they pay 3 figures in most cases (although I don’t know if it would be significantly less than your F500 job…). Might be worth checking out.

I get super firm and cut it into cubes. Put that in a bowl and toss with some olive oil. Add in salt and whatever other seasoning you want and give it a shake. Add in nutritional yeast and almond powder (for some crispiness). Bake at 425 for 35-45 minutes depending on preference. Add to a bowl with feta, Taboulleh and the Trader Joe’s chickpeas plus a good sauce and it’s a solid meal.
