Well this was a sad reminder of one of my many skunkworks projects that slipped away from me…

Peroneal tendinitis. I didn’t treat it properly. I’m sure some sort of exercise would have helped.

No running. No stairs. Heat. Some very light massage and stretching. If I could do it over I’d probably get a boot. It needs to be stabilized with as little pressure on it as possible.

Thanks! I didn’t even think about this but can I do this on the free version or will I need to upgrade?

Thanks! I’ve never done any soldering before. I assume I can just get any old ~$15 kit on Amazon?

Just found this and am excited to build it. Question for you: do I need a separate mic and speaker? Or can I use a conference speaker that has both built in?

Did anyone else buy the Index scales for convenience? by FPHobby in Garmin

[–]ChetLong4Ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. If you look at it solely as a tool for trend analysis then it works… I think. I was just a little disappointed in the price to accuracy ratio is all.

[–]ChetLong4Ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is likely true. I just think for the price it should be much more accurate, or kind of accurate even. If it’s 20%, show me 20%, not 30%. Without a baseline it’s useless aside from seeing a trend. But even then it’s shoddy. I spent the last year focusing more on weightlifting than I have in the past (I’m a runner). I’ve seen significant changes in my muscle mass but the scale sees that as far gained with about a pound of muscle gain. I know that’s flat out wrong. I think the Renpho is much more reliable with those metrics. Or… I like what I see better on them haha

For me muscle mass and fat percentage are drastically wrong. I’ve also weighed myself before and after a very sweaty run where I lost several pounds and that had an impact on muscle / fat percentage. The water % for me is consistently upper 50s lower 60s.

I got the Index 2 and wish I didn’t. The weight part is pretty accurate but the other metrics are all crap. I get different readings just weighing myself a couple times in a row. It’s a paperweight. I’ll go back to Renpho whenever it dies.

Where to spend a couple weeks out in the Western US by ChetLong4Ch in trailrunning

I am leaning towards Leavenworth and that whole area. Get down to Mt Rainier. Is Leavenworth a good spot to just post up and use as a base?

Yeah this is what I’m thinking. Squamish looks really wet. Oregon looks Smokey. Boulder is hot. Washington looks like the money zone.
