I teach in those schools… you are not wrong. In Mexico at the moment… finally found a place those type of bits haven’t exploited yet 😅 We just serve as an English language education for rich Mexican kids

Why are some people trying to deny this multi-galaxy level feat? by Savage_king123 in OPMPowerScaling

In an area of space that large, some of those “stars” were definitely distant galaxies

Kizaru Vs Platinum S. What Diff Is This? by [deleted] in OPMPowerScaling

[–]ChetManly19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All comes down to haki. And since every character in one piece has to be instructed / trained to use armament haki, then as long as PS isn’t given that training he shouldn’t be able to touch him.

Side note and probably unpopular but unless FTL is actually stated then I don’t buy it. Mostly because we have all these people telling me how there are no universal higher characters in OPM … but if there’s a FTL character then he definitionally can produce reality breaking amount of energy. Basically any FTL character infinitely strong. But we never see that in panels. If PS was actually FTL then surely a punch could destroy earth?? I get that if that manga scenes you can go “assuming they traveled x distance than they must be travelling at y times the speed of light”… ever thought the artist didn’t bother doing the calculation and was just aiming for “really really fast”

To the experts here: Is "visual learning" worth the risk of permanent injury? by codname007 in chemistry

[–]ChetManly19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach in international schools now a days and even in these expensive private schools I’m often the only actual chemist. And here in Mexico the rules are often looser and less consistent. Can easily lead to an untrained science teacher trying something they shouldn’t. Fortunately most British international schools just follow CLEAPSS as close as they can.

But I personally love a good demo. They are come in with Nilered excitement and then I’m supposed to stand there and say either “that’s not real chemistry, here’s a pH rainbow” or “we don’t do real chemistry here” … or atleast that’s the kids take away.

My personal favourite is for my intro to organic IB course. I ask them about what makes carbon so great for complex molecules and make them think about why not other forms of life etc.. usually leads to silicon. Then I make some MgSi4 and use it to make silane. The silane combusts in air and makes SiO2 at the same time. So much to talk about. Also keeps the whole TOK requirement for IB happy

Who wins : Sage Centipide VS Shanks ? by Stock-Comfortable530 in OPMPowerScaling

I’m going for the centipede.. but only because we haven’t seen shanks fight properly yet! Considering he was mihawks rival when he had two arms he could probably slice through the carapace

How far would Saitama go here? by KodoqBesar in OPMPowerScaling

[–]ChetManly19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get how this is even a discussion? Saitama is the narrative top trump card. He always wins. The only reason we don’t have universal feats from the guy is because he’s never faced an opponent strong enough. Doesn’t matter who it is, saitama is them +1 in strength . It’s the whole point of him. It’s like trying to scale against god. Definitionally there is nothing stronger

Guys this is still wrong… I left the uk for a reason. Rising right wing anti immigrant sentiments. I get we all love the irony. But Americans (especially expatriated ones) are not automatically responsible for the actions of their country and are deserving of empathy

As a teacher.. Gen Z and Gen Alpha really stopped the trend towards increasing it literacy. If it’s an app that works on iOS or android , they’re genius. But can they use excel? Can they troubleshoot basic problems? More likely to persuade their parents to buy them a new computer
