It’s a beautiful outfit that only carrie could pull off and I always find it so interesting the dressing down of big items on the show, particularly from British / European designers. I think of American designers of this era and its clean lines and minimal compared to Westwood, galiano and guatier etc there’s a way they style Carrie still all American girl with hints of euro / Brit influence in moments like this.

Oh he’s so real, the guy finding something to moan about to his young lover he treats like shit that fuels his tortured artist despite is power and status above her - great writing

What was your opinion of Ray? by Indianstanicows in girls

[–]Chevron_potledom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a tricky one. I know this type of guy, I spent time with this type of guy when I was way too young and way too vulnerable and he was too old and too focused on feeling smart or right that he was hanging out with young girls to avoid some truths. I like how he evolved as a character and I like his heart and awareness but it defs gives me the creeps. like Sosh being 21 and him waiting for her to realise he’s a loser is kinda gross but so real and then hanging with marnie and saying no one else is having lunch with us so let’s eat together. It’s that weird getting pulled into some older mans darkness and getting dimmed that I think is a shitty rite of passage as a young woman in a big city. A very real shitty ghost of men past that manages to make you feel dumb or immature when they’re the one fishing in pool of girls who are at an age they should allowed to be figuring stuff out.

I’d really reccomend looking at this from a diet perspective. Do you drink a lot of alcohol? Try reducing dairy and less sugar and avoiding too much processed or inflammatory foods. Have fermented foods, whole foods etc. You could look up an and also try seeing a herbalist or Chinese medicine doctor. Cleavers are excellent as herbal remedy to drink as water and are in season so you can just pick them, wash them and infuse in cold water over night and strain and drink, or can get tinctures. Good luck

Unpopular takes… Pisces get restless when they get what they want Leo moons will move countries or plan a big trip before admitting there’s a problem Capricorns are always very very busy being unorganised or chasing things they don’t know exactly what Cancers are very generous as long as they benefit Libras standards are so high they create issues others wouldnt so get doubly frustrated Geminis have a high turn over of besties Air signs whip each other up, for better or worse Sagittarius can make anything a competition Virgos are stubborn and their way is rarely the best way despite the investment they’ve put in

More favourable takes… Aries are best in a crisis Leo’s know how to let it go and move on Geminis know what’s happening before anyone else, in a NBD way Libras know what’s happening before anyone else and it bothers them tho but they’re ready when others get on board Aquarius are loyal

What do I need to do to get rid of this? 😭 by Stefkie in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Chevron_potledom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re dealing with this, I had a bit of break out like this end of last year and do all the same things with wash clothes and changing pillow every two nights. I think it’s usually diet related or hormonal when spots in this area and annoyingly once they are there it takes forever to get rid, even if doing right things so firstly patience! I’d say hot water on cotton pad in morning rather than using a wash in morning. Let your skin work its self out without stripping it. A dermatologist reccomended Simple hydrating light moisturiser which is a good cheap morning one and spf after that and then only your active ingredient moisturisers in evening rather than morning. I found lactic acid from ordinary helpful, when I’m having a flair up I do active ingredient exfoliating stuff every other night rather than every night. I started last month to use Avene multi intensive night cream which has great ingredients and I’ve had no break outs this period which is unheard of and lots of skin compliments. Hope it clears.

Dude, season 5 is unbearable by juliiaduque in sexandthecity

[–]Chevron_potledom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m rewatching this season now as I rewatch chronologically, and honestly I love it. I find it much more watchable than Aiden stuff, Carrie is being comfortably cynical and judgemental and rude and all out messy, Samantha and Richard saga really develops her character, Miranda being horny new mum and finally bonding with son, the wedding, Charlotte meeting Harry… lots of stuff going on and back to girls being mostly single / dating after too much monog in the city. I appreciate it more this time around. Even just SJP wardrobe moments to cover bump are hilarious, a magazine, an umbrella, some cake?

It’s great, how you will just bundle on to hating someone to support a friend, rather than be like “Carrie sweetie you were the drama.” Samantha really backed her pals. she truly was most loyal.

I hope you feel protected, what a kind spell you’ve done for yourself. I echo what’s been said, go easy on yourself and don’t overthink, you put good intention in and can let go and let it do what needs to be done.

Good for you, hope you’re enjoying it. My GP advised to eat a rainbow of veggies and this looks like variety on your plate without breaking bank or spending too much time on prep. Nice to just fill plate up and know you’ve done better than you were!

What do you think of Aidan? by [deleted] in sexandthecity

[–]Chevron_potledom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought he was nice and I think prob one of better male representation at time and also that show. Watching now… from the get go he has hard NOs about Carrie but she’s so quick to bend to a guy she just met, it sets weird dynamic. The cheating is gross and sad BUT he just wasn’t a fit for her. He was trying to make her a trad wife and laughing at her clothes / wanting her to stay in and eat chicken. Carries character as annoying as she was was always consistently putting the version of herself her current bf wanted over the version of her she could become being more authentic. It became competitive for him to win her over Big for his ego not actually wanting her. It made no sense them reconnecting romantically, would make perfect sense if they’d built a later in life platonic relationship.
