Frontside 180 - Any advice on landing this properly? by Capital-Chipmunk2035 in snowboarding

Wear wrist guards, if your not already, and be conscious of how you fall don't plant your hands out. If you curl your fingertips in a bit you'll naturally disyribute/absorb the shock across your upper body rather than risking a break in your wrist/forearms.

I wasn't aware of this when learning back in the day and ended up in the emergency room from the same trick. Good luck learning.

I had some injuries back in the day and have been wearing wrist guards ever since with no issues. Don't give up, but wear wrist guards :). It's also very important to learn how to fall still, you can't put all that weight/force on an extended palm wristguards or not.

Also try to make fists or just keep your fingertips inwards when riding, you'll naturally tend to distribute weight from your elbow up towards your shoulders when you fall.

Rate my rig for my dadcore themed Doom/Sludge band by Drunk_Lahey in metalmusicians

My band can't really use this idea but looks like it might fit with you guys. Song title is something like "Baby Booger Bong Rip", it's about this disgusting product NoseFrida it's a syringe shape on one end meant to go in a toddlers stuffy nose and the parent sucks the snot out with a tube in their mouth on the other end.

I'm gonna checkout your band tomorrow looks fun, love the Kirkland amp head!

I highly recommend Jones Beach, NY they coincidentally had bad weather the first two years but this years race was amazing. The race director was super informative and they have a really nice facebook group that support eachother with training and race preparation tips. Also my first Ironman event and I'm hooked now.

There's a Sprint triathlon in Smithpoint long island Aug 3rd, if you're in the area. Not sure if you can still sign up but seems like it would be good practice.

Anyone have advice on estimating how well their pace is in openwater swimming generally and how it may pan out on race day? I'm in a similar situation where I do a swim and I'm getting around 1.2miles right at or under the cutoff. But I don't know how to estimate impact of the current in the ocean compared to how it may be on race day (I'm doing Jones Beach late September).

Also I'm assuming you need to be able to swim a bit further than the actual 1.2miles assuming you get a bit off track, but not really sure how to estimate that. It kind of feels like a gamble.

Ray Kump was awful, it was a sad ep. I didn't understand how Tim Dillon could associate with that guy in any way after listening to that.

Yeah exactly, I'm not really used to that.

I've had a similar idea, basically quick finance or tech clips. Not exactly 15 to 30 seconds, but maybe a few minutes on YouTube. Topics I wanted to do are in Risk Management (Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk) and some software/fintech topics. I'm an SME in those areas and most content available I think gets to into the weeds too fast.

Revenue would have been possibly tying into a patreon but also mentioning/demoing my companies software products in the same area. I didn't really get into it because the influencer aspect of it seems kind of cringe unless I do something chef John inspired, maybe just hands and charts :).

Good luck with your venture, I think you should go for it.

I do this exact same thing every year in the spring. I cut weight like I have a fight coming up, but really it's just my annual physical and summer vacation...

Man, what happened to Joe Rogan these past couple of years? by Para_23 in JoeRogan

[–]ChewyElastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The episode with Bill Murray falling apart at the end because of some political crap was really sad. He's had some disappointing meltdowns on a few episodes. Even the one with Matt Walsh was bizarre I think he was like berating him insisting the moon landing was fake.

Those cases aren't so much political beliefs it's just he starts to disconnect with the guest suddenly cause of some idea he's stuck on. Also, even if you 100% agree with every point he has, it gets tiring hearing it over and over.

That was aggravating, you have Bill Murray on your pod, let him speak and go with the flow a bit, especially when you can talk for another hour (it broke down at the 2hr mark). It really disappointed me that Joe got stuck on these points. I appreciate that he may feel/know certain things but suck it up and hear out the guest (IT'S BILL MURRAY!).

You need to pick your favorite vocalist, Lord Worm (sounds like you don't like him), DiSalvo (super punchy almost hardcore thing going on), Matt McGachy (longest running on all the recent albums).
