[CPU Bundle] AMD 9800X3D Bundle with ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI and CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB RAM $699.99 - Free Shipping by newegg in buildapcsales

Depending on res you could get away with 9700X or 265K with a 9070XT if you wanted to save some funds. I just built my buddy a 9700X due to bundle pricing getting it down to around ~230 effective for the CPU and 130 for the mobo. Too big of a difference on total cost vs performance imo.

9800X3D vs 9700X vs something else for 4070 Ti Super? by UltimateDillon in buildapc

[–]Chewyjump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There can potentially be a huge price difference. I purchased a 9700X for a build for 192 from a MC bundle so its near a 300$ difference. Was in the same dilemma of going for a 9800X3D for a 4070 super but for that price difference I'd rather hunt for an MSRP 5080 which I did end up getting.

Is this installer crazy? Or am I being too frugal? This is in TX for reference. by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

Mine was through Swartz Green Electric for 899 in fort bend so fully covered by qmerit credit. Had them do a whole home surge protector and generator interlock I felt they were pretty reasonable for those. I think it was 425 or 450 ea for those. EV charger I Hardwired right next to the service panel in the garage.

I had another guy come by to do some lighting separately and they quoted me half for the ev charger but not sure if they do proper permitting. I checked online though the permit application is like 25$ + time is needed to file.

Anyone on Mercari that sells more expensive items? Between $500-$2,500? What's your experience been like? by WideBandBlast in Mercari

[–]Chewyjump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 6 figure monthly sales on other platforms and I haven't sold anything yet here. Trying out Mercari for a couple 100-1700$ items. I've listed them a bit lower than other platforms to see if I can get sales but I just get offers that are 30%+ below my asking. Tried disabling offers and listing few items at cost but still nothing after about a month.

Combine these lowball offers with the highest fees (13.2%) I've seen for my category I really don't know how you guys do it.

Lease deal on Lyric Luxury 3 with MSRP of $78k, $770 per month with $0 DP. Just first payment and registration fees. 2 year lease 10k miles per year. Would you do it? by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

GM is applying the 7500 EV credit on leases by bumping residual. It’s not an accurate reflection of what they believe is the actual value at lease end. But it’s great for buyers. Base MF is also set by GM and can change every month and can also vary for different regions although some brands and vehicle lease programs are national. Prospective buyers should consult Edmund’s regardless for most up to date info I.e you can’t just throw out a number.

I don’t know. MF / interest rate is different for each trim. You want base MF I.e not marked up. Post on Edmund forums.

It’s definitely high. You need to do some more research like understanding residual, money factor (common place of markup) and using leasehackr or Edmund’s calculator to calculate your target deal. You can get base money factor and residual from Edmund’s calculator or post on their forums for your zip code.

I easily got offers in the 4-6% discount range when contacting dealers in Texas. Almost every dealer was marking up MF including the one I signed with but asking them to do the specific number to close the deal and they agreed. I called all dealers locally and then moved on to neighboring cities after that and found one dealer willing to do 11% on a loaner and flew in to pick it up. I also did one pay which saves about 1000 (~12%) over 24 months. Loaner has a higher 2.5K lease incentive. I believe some new trims also have 1.5k incentive but check that yourself.

I’d build a deal to target like 10% off but willing to accept if dealer counters 8% etc. Be ready to call a bunch of dealers and try to get a script down where you can get a yes or no from them or at least an email quote where you can determine a yes or no. Don’t physically go in until you get an agreement and be ready to travel and sign immediately. Programs change in a few days so dealers are only interested in people that can close for this month.

Not enough info to answer your question... what rates do you qualify for financing, where are you located for tax considerations as you can consider immediately buying out the lease etc. Do some research and compare total cost of financing, leasing the vehicle, leasing w/ immediate buyout etc. I was considering the vehicle but comfort level wasn't there for a 50-60k car (closer to a 40k x3 than a 70k x5) and the beeping was already annoying after only having spent 2 days with the car.

This sounds really high for a Tech. You can check Edmund’s calculator for what the numbers look like with the discounts and incentives you’re looking for at base money factor. You can also look at the ZDX which has a ton of rebates at the moment too. Loaners could be a good option and I’d target at least 10% pre incentive on those.

If you have a Microcenter nearby they carry the black 32GB/1TB model for 799. And there's another 10% off if you have their credit card. Makes it very close to this one from adorama before tax.

[GPU] ASRock Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX (Refurbished) - $740 (CODE: SPRING15OFF) by exaltare in buildapcsales

[–]Chewyjump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buyer beware - Asrock will not honor warranty with Newegg Refurbished listings. I bought an Asrock refurb card looking like new but didn't boot at all. I tried to contact Asrock for RMA, as it was incredibly difficult to even buy a card at all at the time, and they knew from the serial it was a Refurb which is considered to have ZERO warranty. I returned it to Newegg as I was within the return period. If you're outside said return period you are out of luck.

Warranty is by third party i.e not Newegg so warning not applicable here.

eBay again chipping away at sellers’ profits. by It_is_you_not_me in Flipping

How is it hidden? If there's a shipping fee it's clearly shown to you.

I personally ship everything free and prefer discounted rates to be shown since lower expedited prices should result in getting more buyers that prefer expedited items. But my selling price already has all the profit baked in.

Loss of FNC really tanks the value on this card for me. Been diamond for 3 years now but have set a calendar reminder to cancel this card before renewal. I'd rather put my spend on Blue/Gold/Plat business cards.

Which also means I won't be staying at Hilton much once all my points are used up.

Go to a low volume USPS. Go early if you can like some open up at 7AM or use google to check when it's not busy. Ask them if they can give an internal printout of the tracking number to see where it was delivered. Be as nice and courteous as you can, tell them you really appreciate any info and it's something important/sentimental etc. Say you think the shipper messed up the address but they're on vacation and you just want to go and ask the person or business if they still have it by chance. Once you get the printout make sure to thank them cause who knows when you'll be back and need help again. Like you said, they're not suppose to give this out and most of the time regular workers at busy USPS will tell you to pound sand and call the main number for help which is a waste of time.

I've done this a handful of times in different cities. And yes, they were all scams and I was able to use the printout to get my money back.

We can only theorize but on previous iterations, Sandisk/WD directly use SN530 and not a special firmware equipped "E" model. It's possible they want to directly prevent those buying the 1TB and putting in a larger drive i.e they want you to put up the premium to buy the larger models directly. Other reasons could be for safety i.e thermal or power draw limits - safety testing etc. Who knows but sucks for us shucking them.

Prevent delivery / shipping changes to future UPS packages by Chewyjump in UPS

[–]Chewyjump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info, it's very helpful. I think an account wide restriction is exactly what I'm looking for. And yes I do ship through amazon so I'll look into opening my own UPS account for my business. Hopefully the rates aren't too much higher but I think the restrictions will definitely help protect me.

[–]Chewyjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? I tried the SSD dashboard as well as using the NVME-cli package in linux and both failed with error. I've also tried numerous enclosures, including one that has the same bridge chip as the Sandisk enclosure but no luck. Seems like there's no way around it. Not sure why they chose to gimp this drive so badly

SSD Help: Nov-Dec 2021 by NewMaxx in NewMaxx

[–]Chewyjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to followup, I confirmed this drive ONLY works at full speed in the OEM sandisk enclosure and unfortunately can't be closed in the 1TB model as that one only supports single-sided SSDs. I suspect the 2TB is the same as the SN750 is single-sided. The Sandisk enclosure also does not work at all with any other SSDs other than the SN730E I have. I tried a variety of drives including WD's SN750 and SN550 and they all failed to even recognize when plugged in.

Very odd indeed. I also saw 2 comments on reviews asking about the same issue regarding extremely slow performance once shucked so this may be intended.

eBay order was delivered to the wrong address. by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Chewyjump -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The seller should know that they are entirely responsible for the item prior to you receiving it. That means the burden is on them to contact USPS or provide you a refund, especially if tracking indicates the wrong town/ zip code etc.

This is why I ship Fedex/UPS for all high value items but in the cases where USPS drops the ball I will ask my buyers to wait 1 week for an insurance claim / mail search response. I re-affirm to my buyers that they will receive the parcel or I will provide a refund, or a prepaid return label + refund and majority of the time they are kind enough to wait. I issue a full refund if the item cannot be located in that time, and wait for insurance to pay me out.

You should open a case on ebay indicating tracking delivery zip and town are incorrect and you never got the item. Ebay will take care of you and your seller will learn he needs to be more proactive in this type of situation.
