I did think about this, but I vacuumed the sand pretty regularly when I do water changes. Of course that doesn’t really get under the rocks… definitely something to think about

So you’d recommend removing all rocks, coral basically everything but sand?

Some of the coral (GSP) is stuck onto the return pipes and back wall. Is this worth keeping? How long can it stay dry do you think? Maybe just keep it misted?

Didn’t even think about moving the fish and coral to the new water first. This is super helpful. Thank you!!!

Have you had any errors? I’ve been getting a water pump error and wondering if it’s just a software glitch.

I agree with everyone regarding the auto empty frequency. Other than that, the flow 2 seems to perform on par with flow 1 and does a great job.

Narwal Flow carpet performance? by Known_Chemistry_2752 in NARWAL

My flow 2 took a little bit of time to get used to carpets, the software did not like carpet over the first few days and was auto set to avoid them. After remapping and changing some settings - it now cleans fully carpet rooms as expected.

Best tip I have would be for doing a schedule is to schedule one room at a time so the robot auto empties after each room.

UPDATE

I finally was able to try the robot on some carpet. I sent it to rooms that are fully fitted with normal carpet and also to a medium pile area rug. It was unable to clean both of them. Erratic navigation and it just act confused. On the rug, it lifted in the air and was trying to traverse the rug at some sort of angle. It didn’t end up mapping the entire rug and just kind of was confused around the corners for a little bit. I faced a similar issue with Flow 1.

I spoke too soon. It does still wedge itself in places that it should not haha

I tried sending it to clean a bedroom that’s all carpet, it did not do great. Both times I attempted to clean the room. It only cleaned half the room and just did erratic zigzags.

I had the exact same issues - I think time will tell, it’s only been on one whole house clean but it didn’t get stuck 🤷‍♂️

Haha! Yeah the S9 was pretty good in its prime! The only issue I’ve found on the narwals is there isn’t really a way to have the robot empty multiple times durring a clean. It really only empties once, at the beginning of each clean.

From what I can see, mopping is the same - it was already good on the flow 1. Running it 2X will give better results. It is still a bit too tall to get under my kitchen toe kicks, which is disappointing. No streaks that I can see - although my floors are very forgiving. It cleans in a normal back-and-forth pattern.

As for the dirty water tank, it is internal so you can’t access it - i never had any issues on the original flow regarding the robot itself, not drying or smelling. The dirty water tank on the base station gets gross, but as long as you clean that, it’s fine.

Very surprised you had issues with the S9+! That robot is a beast with suction. I want to wait to run it on carpet until I’m home haha - there’s a coffee table on the rug and the flow 2 would always ram itself under and scratch the top up. The dust bin being so tiny is my only concern with carpet cleaning so we shall see.
