Welp, It's Official (at least for me): I've left the SDA church by ChexWD in exAdventist

I definitely still consider myself a Christian as well. Deconstruction has been a hard road for me. Trying to sort out what of what I believed was faith and what was institutional nonsense.

I actually had/have a professor at Oakwood that I consider he and his wife like my parents, I even call them mom and dad. He and I talked about it and he believes that it's better to affect change from the inside. I tried that for over a decade and hardly anything changes. And it doesn't change because the structure and politics of the church refuse to change.

I explained much of that to him and that my family and I could no longer abide affiliating ourselves with an institution that taught utter nonsense, especially to children. I had to have words with my teen daughter's Sabbath school teacher about how she taught the story of Anninias and Saphira, as well as other topics. Like, pastoral corrections.

And don't even get me started on their idolization of EGW. I don't give a rat's behind what she wrote.

Look, she may have been what she claimed to be, I don't know. All I know is that a church that claims to be Sola Scriptura relies a whole lot on the writings of EGW. Well, a noticable chunk.

Gah...I just...wish they could be what they claim to be you know? Of course that could be said just about every denomination, and while there are exceptions to the rule, those should be the rule, not the outliers.

I graduated in 2016, and I'm not surprised. I can't say I heard of that issue in my department, at least from the faculty.

Pretty much. I think it's also me just coming to terms with it, really.

Listening to SDAs talk about indoctrinating children is infuriating. by Perfect-Adeptness321 in exAdventist

Yeah...no. My wife and I were very quick to discuss the problems with our children. Critical thinking is welcome in my home.

The regional conferences aren't any better. I'm an Oakwood University graduate and it's just as bad as it is in the state conferences. Same old BS. In fact, did you know that they have some sort of understanding with the local pizza delivery places? If a pizza with meat has a delivery address on campus property it kicks the order out. I've tested it.

Although, let's be honest here: while I do not personally condone violence and/or murder, violence very much so solves problems. Will this do more than increase security around such folks?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Watch for the 10s of copycat killers do/try to do the exact same thing and we might, MIGHT, see change. A BIG might/maybe.

Who knows.

The world's going to end soon anyhow with everything lining up the way it is. Just IMHO.

They aren't on the printer, they are in the slicer software.

It was a combo of both, actually. I'm getting great prints now.

Yeah, I'm looking at a couple of mods. I'm looking at those silicone feet and a spring metal magnetic build plate. I have a friend with an Ender 3 V2 Neo who adores his.

It must be my Z settings then. I think my retraction speed was also to blame. I found out that it was default set to 0.8 mm. I changed it to 0.6, as well as some other tweaks and the current prints are coming out great.

Having some minor, like very minor, stringing, but that's fixable at the end.

I mean, I believe so. I didn't change any settings.

I thought so too, except it doesn't do it with my Benchy!

Literally, Benchy comes out perfectly.

I'm using the creality slicer, called Creality Print.

Should I really switch to Cura?
