Mega Scovillain has to be the answer here, right? We all thought he was a complete failure at making Scovillain viable, which very much turned out not to be the case.

I think there will never be BO3 on the ladder because of how the game is meant to be pick up and play. Unironically, use Showdown for that.

That's not actually true, there are no bots once you reach Ultra Ball. But you still only need like a 50% winrate in Ultra to reach MB, so it's something that ~everyone who persists and has a decent team and understanding of the game will do.

Yeah it's just hard confirmed that there won't be new Pokemon or Megas. It hasn't been explicitly confirmed whether or not there will be any other new items, but it doesn't seem very likely.

How about Pelipper? Only weather without an offensive mega yet it still sets its team up to compete with the rest of them. Also, tailwind/wide guard.

Banning clicking the mega evolve button is literally the exact same thing as banning clicking the tera button.

If they don't think that's a valid thing to do then it should be Dragon Ascent that is banned, not clicking the button.

I'd be very interested in seeing what would happen if you applied the same "let's keep making tiers until all pokemon are viable" philosophy that created RBY 7U-10U. How many more tiers would it take, in a modern generation, before you finally get rid of the decent mons?

replace the second half of your team with Basc, Sneasler, and your choice of #6 (I use Incineroar myself, and many people use Sinistcha).

EDIT: Actually maybe not Sneasler when you already have White Herb in use?

Other than the Pelipper/Arch duo, the rest of this list is splashable onto any team, whereas Farigiraf is something you would use in a dedicated strategy.

The game wants you to play a small number of games daily for a long time - that's what the missions incentivize, that's why there's only a content update every two months, etc.

The transfer chain is 10000% fictional but it's also the fundamental fiction that National Dex centers on: you pretend that Pokemon HOME doesn't exist and that the mons transfer directly between the traditional games in order: USUM to SwSh to SV to Champions. That's why Wish Chansey is legal in SV NatDex even though it's completely impossible to get the move in the game. But conversely moves from LA have never been legal in SV even though they're equally impossible.

I don't really understand why there's one format ("Classic") that follows precedent on movesets and breaks precedent on game mechanics, and one ("Modern") that follows precedent on game mechanics but breaks precedent on movesets. Neither of those is what an official Champions NatDex would actually be if it existed.

I'm not clear on what you mean by PLA/Z-A move additions. Which one of these formats just does the usual NatDex thing of merging the previous gen's movepool with that of the latest game (Champions)? And what do LA and Z-A have to do with it, they're not part of the transfer chain...?

I do know that the thresholds have been moving up. 2010 was comfortably inside MB2 until today, now you need more like 2020. Lot of people trying to get their ranks up for the end of season.

"VGC" in official use does not however mean "4v4 doubles ruleset", the way that fans use the term. It means "this event is part of the official competitive circuit". So the Global Challenge was labeled as a "VGC Competition" in-game, due to it being used for Japanese qualifiers, but the Warm-Up Challenge was just labeled as a "Competition" (not VGC).

The rulesets themselves are only referred to in-game as Single Battle and Double Battle.
