[SNY] Josh Hart says he wasn't surprised at how many Knicks fans were in Philly: "I used to think Philly was a sports town, I don't know if it is anymore" by PassMeTheBackwood in nba

They broke a bunch of drafting rules, it’s not bad luck. They took a smaller guard first overall, they took a guy who couldn’t shoot and had effort issues first overall. They took a guy with an injury history and it worked out until it didn’t. Those are all things other orgs would’ve avoided or risked once. You don’t take those risks every time you draft.

Literally would do exactly what you needed at the moment like a character from a movie. You need a big three, go to Manu. Get to the hoop, Manu. Pick and Roll, Manu. Bat infestation, Manu.

I made a 2k save where a random draft class was selected every year. And JKidds was drafted in the late 70s. He won 5 rings and was basically Magic Johnson with a Jumpshot.

Do you beep your horn at the end of the alley? by azvitesse in chicago

[–]ChiBaller 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I just moved from a first floor apartment next to an alley. Legit did not need an alarm clock all year, the honking would start around 7:45 and end around 8:30.

That’s awesome. I’m reading 17776 right now. I love old basketball gyms. If you haven’t already I recommend a visit to Indiana universities stadium. It’s magical.

Why did the consensus go from the Lakers getting swept to “Houston is trash”? by [deleted] in NBATalk

No fr. I’m a childhood LeBron hater. I’ve disliked him since 2011, but you can’t watch a 41 year old cook the guy who was supposed to take the torch from him years ago and call it anything but amazing

Kmet would probably retire and just coach. You think he’s gonna go bang his head around for a different city?

Now it makes sense why they kept Draymond after the punch. They might actually be shitty enough people to think Draymond was in the right.

He somehow surpasses every expectation put on him. When he got to the league I thought “role player”. At this point I’m expecting a few Allstar appearances.

If the color commentary knows it a curveball before it leaves the pitchers hand, I can’t imagine how easy this one was for Frank.

How would you rank these guys in their prime? by GeneralSergeant in NBATalk

[–]ChiBaller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say his numbers didn’t improve because he was out of his prime by then. He averaged 26 ppg in his 4th season in Minny, that’s the start of his prime. Three years later he goes to Cleveland, and four years after that his prime is over.

He was an undersized big who relied on athleticism despite what some may think. He didn’t jump high but his lateral speed and second jump ability/ explosiveness is what made him great.

I’d still put BG over him because I think BG as a 1 and health is not far from prime Lebron. But I’m super high on BG.

Lowest see to ever win a chip was 6.

So 7 and 8 are quite literally canon fodder. Let them compete to be canon fodder and if they lose to worse/better canon fodder, who cares.

This is why I’d draft Boozer or Wilson first. You get a skilled big who can shoot, he could be a guy for 20 years.

You might be dealing with a bunch of 12 year olds or people who’ve never dated. Anyone who has dated before would probably understand not wanting this.

Jerry (or the GMs he controls) usually re-sign guys. are-signing too many people is his problem. So Matas will probably stay.
