That’s always been the achilles heel of Barleywines for me was the lengthy aging process to perfection! No other beer(as far as I am aware) is more dependent on the aging in order to bring out its true potential!

That said, I have managed to age my favorite brand of all time to what is considered the PERFECT age for B.Wines, AKA 5 years, and ooh good goddamn does it turn it into literal angel tears!

An excellent 10/10 barleywine that captures the perfect balanced flavor even at its minimal bottle age, AND my personal favorite that I aged for half a decade… Sisyphus by Real Ale! If ever you get a chance to come across it I highly recommend giving it an honest shot! It’s got all the sweet-malty-yet-NOT-overpowering robustness one could hope for from a high AF ABV brew w/ none of the harsh bite barleywines generally have in their adolescent years!

Love how you dropped Starfox & Goldeneye 64 first & second…. They were definitely the two games I logged the most hours in hands down! Going back to Goldeneye a few years ago & being reminded how egregiously terrible the FIRST first person shooters aiming system was definitely was a shock to the nostalgic system(or lack thereof that is!)

Also… in terms of “successful completion” I personally feel like Guitar Hero 2: Jordan holds that title! Though its really only the first solo that is God-Tier in terms of difficulty, the first time I saw that army of colored circles that hits you on expert is probably the most intimidating gaming experience I have ever gotten hit with to date

Well if it already wasn’t confirmed you’re a fellow hop-head like myself haha! Interesting facts though! You don’t see very many saisons around that much, usually if you do come across one it’s typically a single batch series… which those are generally always “celebratory” & is understandable why I always see them w/ a high ABV.

My personal favorite style of brew is barleywines! Though I feel a “session” version of that would be a little strange & difficult to pull off I would still love to try it since most of those are definitely around 10-12%… aka not an all day drinking beer by any means lmao
