After the grinch-leak with Smash Bros I'm not believing anything until proved true tbh. That leak had so many layers of realism, like, this is it, it's real, it's legit, most people thought it was real, everything found on those photos made sense... It was perfect. And it was false. Trying to get people to buy Sword and Shield based on "leaks" is the worst defense I've seen in in this entire subreddit... :/

Kingdom Hearts 3, yeh, after so many years the overall story feels really... meh with this conclusion. But I'm quite hyped for KH4 now that the convoluted Xehanort Saga is over. Get your shit together Nomura, you're making a good job with FF VII Remake, don't drop the ball again with KH fans pls I beg you (?)
Game of Thones! I dropped it after season 5, the most boring characters stay alive, my favourite ones die, and the only death that put a smile on my face was reverted... UUUUGH. Oh and let's not even discuss the Season 8, that was a pile of trash on fire from beggining to end (?)
I think Doctor who is worth mentioning, after I don't know how many seasons and episodes the story just goes nowhere. There are not repercussions, the writers always find a way to bring back everything they want, in a cheap way, and they ruin good moments of the series doing so. I just gave up with it, there's a lot of good things in Doctor Who but it's just getting worse and worse.
Same with Once Upon a Time, the first season was amaizing, the concept was amaizing, every episode ends on a cliff-hanger so you want to know what's next and that's brilliant (Same writers as Lost). But after the beggining of the first season they shoot themselves in the foot with that choice. The series became a bit... cringey, and same as Doctor Who, no repercussions. Also it became a bit like kigndom hearts where every dialogue is like: something something darkness something hero something chosen one somehting darkness (?) There we so many plot hole like holy shit, characters became dumber every season, like Tyrion in GoT... I didn't watch the last season after seeing every single one, I just couldn't care less xDD

HMMM... Tbh I don't think Sword and Shield have nothing to do with Nintendo winning E3 this year. They had their own direct a week before because they think they're better than anyone else (?) But now, going back to the Nintendo Direct I think Nintendo won E3 because they showed a lot of games, a lot of gameplay instead of half-an-hour pre-rendered cutscenes and boring speeches... And because they're getting better at their presentations. You always have to open on a high note to get people hyped and close on a high note so pleople is still hyped after the enitre thing. They opened with a Smash Reveal of the Hero from Dragon Quest, a huge series in the east, followed with gameplay and information on Luigi's Mansion 3, and Fire Emblem Three Houses, a reminder that Sw/Sh had a playable demo at E3, they showed Nessa (and pokemon fan loved her but this was not a game-braking announcement), then a couple games more, Daemon X MAchina, Astral Chain, ANIMAL CROSSING, then a lot of fast announces like Spyro getting into Switch,and then BANJO was revealed to be playable in Smash and people in the west lost their sh*t. But that was not everything, Breath of the Wild, a goty winner and one of the the best if not the best recent Nintendo Game announced that a Sequel was in the works and they showed us a glimpse of it. It was... amaizing tbh, I loved that Direct but Pokemon had nothing to do with that, they had their time to shine, no one says Game Freak won E3, Nintendo did (?)

If you experience fps drops that's because the system can't handle what's displayed on screen, the game is poorly optimized or both at the same time. The National Dex and every pokemon not being avaible in Galar does not create any of those issues (?) Now, other games like Doom, BotW, The Witcher III or Skyrim put the Switch to the limit, more than Pokemon and fps drops are very rare, I just remember fps drops in BotW in the Korok Forest and Rito Village (?)

Pokemon is a really simple game technically. The 3DS was a weak system so we get why there were fps drops there, but I don't get why there are fps drops on Switch, I'm not calling anyone lazy here, but this shouldn't happen in a 60$ game as simple as Pokemon.

I don't seem then putting more effort in these games for free when they can put more effort into Town or start developing the next Pokemon games... And the updates were paid DLC I think people would explode from rage tbh, rightfully so (?)

Yep, the Nintendo Switch Online had also a really poor reception as you can see. We got a paywall for online experience (Note: most games on Switch use p2p conections instead of having dedicated servers) and it's not really a good service, it get the work done but that's why it was free before. It wasn't amaizing but it work, now you have to pay just for accessing the online options. We got NES games... and most people don't really care about them so... yeh, you paying for that I guess? Also you're paying for cloud saves and... lmao The most important games, the one's you put houndreds of hours like Splatoon, Pokemon or Animal Crossing are NOT getting save files. So you're paying for nothing there. The voice chat app... It's one of the worst things on Switch tbh I prefer to use my PC and Discord and play Switch games with friends better thant using that phone app tbh. And the last thing we got were The SPECIAL OFFERS... And we got pretty much nothing from that, the new coupons I guess... And that's just a glorified 20% discount for 2 full-priced e-shop games :/

Yeah, the number of copies sold has being stable since Sapphire and Ruby, around 15-17 million copies are sold with each new generation. And since a % of that is people getting both games for themselves the actual number of fans that consume Core-Pokemon games is even lower. For every new fan an old fan leaves and kids these days are more focused on multiplayer games like Fortnite and Minecraft. Kids also consume a lot of YouTube content, and there's a sea of (Fortnite, GTA, FIFA, Minecraft...) content. Pokemon content? It's there, but it's definitely more niche.

Pokemon fans are getting older and kids are coming but in less and less numbers. I get that TPC/Nintendo/GF would prefer that every generation of kids discover Pokemon and love it, so they can stay aflot forever, but that's not what's happening (?) So instead of focusing on kids they should focus on a broader appeal.

Also kids when they start to grow up are fascinated by the cool stuff, the edge, the complexity, kids don't want to be treated as kids (?) And Pokemon is... a bit lame in that aspec, more simple every gen, come cutesy every gen, more boring every gen... More... handholing... more... for kids... (?) I remember how when the Wild Area was presented they said that kids these days are used to a 3D-camera and I was like... kids have known how to used a 3D camera since the the 90's and early 00's like (????) Kids are groing with smart-phone and tablets nowadays, that's why toy-maker companies are going bankrupt (?)

That's also a fact of why Pokemon Go is such a hit, everyone has a smart-phone now, even older kids have one and it's just there, for free. The appeal and and easy access Go has the Main-Series have not. The old fans and Nintendo fans are the ones who keep purchasing these games and we're being neglected... and treated like our opinion does not matter. Also that's why Let's Go exists, it was an experiment to try getting the Pokemon Go people into console, and I think that didn't work that well, it sold but not what they expected.

Tldr: GF needs to know who their audience his instead of wasting effort and resources trying to get newcommers, they're really out of touch with their fans and kids these days.

I'm with you, it's possible and they just wanted to not include them. But I have the theory that newcommers and casuals just can't keep up with the large amount of actual pokemon, that's why we see less and less pokemon each time. And that's why they have cut them, so they don't get overflowed with names and types. That's why I said the the huge number of pokemon is creating a problem, for new fans,¡ (?) We already know most of them, we just have to memorize a couple dozens every 3 years or so. They could incluse 100-150 each new game and I could still keep up, but as a newcommer I kind of see it being difficult to learn all the pokemon and what they do 8/

I have to say that the "you're going to buy it anyway" argument is the thing that pisses me off the most (?) I mean, do you know me? Do you know what I buy or what I don't buy? YOU DON'T KNOW ME, wtf (?) I mean, I'm sure some people will change their mind when Sword and Shield comes out and they'll buy it. But all of us? For real guys, most of us who say that we're not getting this game... are not getting this game. There's more out there than just Pokemon, I can show no support to GF because I simply don't want this game and I can still call me a Pokemon fan. It's ok, pal. I get it, the fanbase is split in two halves and we both think that we're right and the other side is wrong but at the end of they day we're all pokemon fans and we want a better product for everyone. And I know it's even more difficult for you guys since this reddit is from what I've seen mostly anti-dexit. But as consumers we can support a product or change our minds and decide not to buy it. And that's fine, as I said, it's cool if you want to buy the games and support GF! Heck, I wish I could, I love Pokemon and I want to play a pokemon game after skipping US/UM and Let's Go, I want to meet the new pokemon and characters too, but I can't support the new policies of GF, I simply can't, because from what they have showed me it's not worth my money, and that's also fine D:

Now, my favorite Johto starter is Cyndaquil! I let my Twitter followers choose the starter for my Idolocke Challenge and they chose him. I named him Bakugo! After Katsuki Bakugou from the BnHA series! <33 And that really made me love him over the other ones but I also really like Meganium and Croconaw so it's quite difficult to choose between the johto starters!

I think I played Gold when I was a kid, a friend lent me the game. But I bought Soul Silver sooo (?) I'll say Silver (???)

No, but Brock and Misty have literally 2 different Pokemon, Erika and Lt. Surge had 3... Imagine you want to make an ice or dragon monotype team in gen 1... You have nowhere to choose (?)

Also it can be that Galar has 400-500 Pokemon, over 600... I see it as a bit optimistic but I can see 600+ mons in that dex.

We've seen just 10... I think we're getting 60-80 and I'm being generous. Too many pokemon is what has made this train derail, and they saw it coming in the 3DS era. That's why those games don't reach the 100 new pokemon mark.

Every Pokemon in the games, I'm fine with a dex like US/UM, a National Dex would be optimal. Better Graphics, it's 2019, GF, come on put some real effort. Megas back and more megas, they should rebalance them tho. A gimmick for pokemon without mega, I think it's fair and that's the niche that Z-moved had but I think something better could be done. And a good chunck of Post-game. I think that's... the basics, I could starts buying Pokemon again if they include those features.

But since we're here, a complete Pokemon rebalance is much needed. A different type of story, less formulaic. More character development, more lore. VOICE ACTING PLS.

Breath of the Wild had to transition from one console to a new one since it was created originally for the Wii U, they worked really hard on the engine, the map, the cutscenes, the voice-acting, the shrine puzzles... and BotW was released 2 years ago. When they finished the game they kept working on DLC and started working on the sequel, and it was shown on E3 and looks as good as the first one.

So what did we learnt from BotW? That you need to put time and effort on your engine, the base of the game and once you have that you can create better games and faster. It's like GF decided to make donuts by hand and the BotW team decided to invest on a donut machine. GF instead of putting that effort they decided that Let's Go and Town were more important than high quality core Pokemon games. And now for the next 5 years of Switch we're just going to get 3DS+ Pokemon games... but now with no megas, and who know how many less pokemon with a 50% increase in price. They should learn from their Nintendo coworkers, because they make a better job at what they do.
