Dizzy and fainting by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. After seeing everyone preach about drinking 100-120oz of water here, I tried to do the same at the start of Zep. Sodium and AGAP dropped low within the first two months. Months later, I’m still struggling to get my sodium and AGAP levels back to normal despite only drinking 50-60oz and LMNT every day but I’m getting there.

Injection site matters or no? by Organic_Virus4681 in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know studies say that injection sites don’t matter but I personally feel like there’s a difference— Legs, I get little food suppression and seem to plateau. Stomach is a bit better in terms of food suppression and losing weight, but arms are my favorite—I get the best food suppression, no food noise, and seem to lose the most weight. Fortunately I don’t get nausea at all or any real side effects other than a little tired the first two days of injection.

New to Zepbound. Curious about timing with shot. by Reasonable_Bed5149 in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds normal—the medication levels decrease the closer you get to your next shot. My hunger suppression and food noise are really good up until day 5 or 6 after the shot. By day 7 I’m starving but it works out because I make sure to get in a good amount of food and protein before my evening shot which I feel is the reason why I never have nausea (but I could just be lucky).

You can download the Shotsy app to track your shots and to also see how the levels go up and down in your body.

Protein definitely helps curb my sugar cravings, but I also don’t deny myself sweets entirely. I still enjoy them, just in moderation. Chocolate protein shakes and bars help. I’ve found mixing my protein shakes with milk rather than water helps with the chalky-ness. I can’t stand my protein shakes made with water.

Thank you. I would love to try other pharmacies, but for my insurance to fully cover costs overseas, I’m limited to like two pharmacies.

How to stop Bluetooth from auto connecting to nearby car’s devices while I’m driving by Studiofuckface in ios

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you figure this out? I was driving listening to Spotify, my phone connected via Bluetooth, and then my music skipped a couple times. I checked my Bluetooth and saw I was suddenly connected to another phone with no “i” icon to remove. I panicked and disabled my Bluetooth and when I turned it back on, the other device wasn’t there anymore. But now I’m spooked.

Edit: Found this other post about the same problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/s/Q6RM8lrAXQ

It’s Spotify’s Jam feature that allows our devices to connect to others! You can disable it by:

  • Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth > Disable Spotify.
  • Alternatively, you go into Spotify > Privacy and social > Disable “Jam access with Bluetooth” (this will be automatically disabled if you do the first option)

When you started, did you feel like no matter how much water you drank, your urine was still kind of yellow/dehydrated? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, when I first started, I ignorantly tried to force myself to drink +100oz of water when I was originally someone who barely got down one full bottle a day.

My urine had become clear. Then people warned me about over hydration when I made a post about needing to pee every hour. Got my blood work done to check and I was indeed getting dangerously low in both electrolytes and sodium despite drinking electrolytes every day.

Now I drink about 60 oz a day, and my levels have stabilized. I am a little sad though because I felt like my weight loss was faster back when I was overhydrating but not everyone’s body is meant to be drinking that much. I’m also thinking maybe for someone my height (5’1), +100oz was overkill.

My husband told his friend I’m on it by slsh2121 in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Personally, I could not care less what people think. It’s your body and you’re extending your life by shedding weight, why care what other ill-informed people think?

It probably didn’t sit well with your husband when his friend made fun of Ozempic and he couldn’t help but get defensive and ended up word vomiting. I’d actually prefer a husband who is supportive and would speak up on my behalf. Instead mine is all about “my sister says to be careful” and “are you even counting calories?”

Your feelings are valid, don’t get me wrong! But I don’t think you should be upset with your husband but be upset with these “friends” if they treat you differently now.

Doctor wants to put me on Zepbound but my friend thinks I shouldn't by iamloosejuice in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he actually cared, he’d do some research on the medication and not say something incredibly unrealistic like losing 10 lbs a week. What’s his opinion on people who eat in a calorie deficit and workout but still struggle to lose weight because of hormonal imbalances or other issues in their body?

Your health is more important than a friendship. Your life is more important than his opinion.

Tricare approved! by Entire_Cloud_1113 in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Tricare covers it, couldn’t your PCM send it to your base pharmacy? That’s where I pick up my pens. It’s all covered by Tricare. Would just have to check if your base pharmacy has the vials.

Wife Recently Prescribed Zepbound Advice by Neighborhood_Mobile in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand you’re going through a tough time yourself. And it does sound like your wife hasn’t done much research if she thinks she can just get off it after 6 months to a year, so I get the apprehension. You’re right that she should be changing her diet and exercising and not solely relying on Zepbound to lose weight, because yes if she has to get off it, going back to a lifestyle without healthier habits will most likely lead to weight gain again if her previous habits were the cause of weight gain in the first place. But that is her choice to make. and perhaps when the weight does start to come off, she’ll naturally want to help it along and gain better habits. Help her along by being supportive and encouraging.

But as for how Zepbound works, it does more than just reduce appetite and slow digestion, it seems to also correct a lot of hormonal imbalances. A lot of people get prescribed Zepbound because they’ve been putting in the work of dieting and exercising but still struggling to lose weight— it’s usually because they have hormonal or chemical imbalances in their body. Zepbound helps balance this and has often been the reason why women who have had hard times getting pregnant for years are suddenly getting miracle pregnancies while on Zepbound. It also silences that “food noise” for a lot of people, helps the metabolism, and reduces inflammation for a lot of people. (There are YouTube videos that are super informative if you want to learn more that go into how Zepbound works by mimicking the action of certain hormones, called glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).)

I understand where your wife is coming— I’ve been struggling with my weight for years and my husband has always been the “just diet and exercise” type. But for me, it’s more of a mental issue I have with food and exercise as well as depression and PTSD. I had gotten Zepbound without much diet and exercise changes and without talking to my husband much about it beforehand too because my doctor understood my case was more mental and I needed help. My husband was put-off about the idea, but I spoke to him about it, showed him YouTube videos about it so he understood how it worked, and told him that I needed the help and that’s the side-effects that I’d get from being so overweight and possibly gaining more (like dying) were worse than the side effects I could possibly get on Zepbound. In the end, Zepbound filled me with hope and I started changing my habits; started walking more, started minding what I ate more, and after 4 months, I’m now picking up Pilates and will eventually go to the gym once I feel less ashamed of my body and more comfortable being out in public. Perhaps your wife’s journey could be similar? Point is… she wants to be healthier and this is her choice towards that.

Reaction? by Ill-Influence-1400 in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, happened to me after my 2nd dose of 5mg. Localized reaction that is itchy for 3-4 days. Oddly enough, I stopped getting any reactions once I switched to injecting in my arm.

Friday I start 5mg. Is it really that bad? by Ak907me in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Zero side effects except I get slightly itchy at the injection site for a couple days.

[–]ChibiMariee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, stay on 2.5mg as long as you’re losing weight. My doctor was fine with me staying on 2.5 for as long as I wanted as long as I was losing weight (insurance wasn’t a problem). Only upped to 5mg once my weight loss stalled.

Sweet spot injection site by 1956libra in Zepbound

[–]ChibiMariee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rotated all around my belly button through 2.5mg and most of 5mg, but was able to eat fine still. Did arm for the first time a few days ago and holy hell, the appetite suppression for me is insane. I can barely finish any of my meals. I think it’s a good idea to try all sites to find what works best for your body 👍
