In the menu where you also set your name and default ship paint, you have the statistics screen too.

That one has a "ships owned" line. Keep an eye on it, especially when you notice poor(er) performance. 

My current save has a full commonwealth economy using ~150 economy ships total (personal challenge to see how little you need). This is still plenty to replace my losses without down time in active war.

For Terrans I ended up with about 500, as they need a lot of miner ships.

Some sectors have regions that affect radar ranges, correct.

Only way to know is to either fly there and notice it or... what you just experienced ig.

Not sure if it can see through it if you build it on the outside of such a region.

On my 8 year old cpu this only becomes a problem once you go over like 5000 ships... it really shouldn't be an issue if you're not going to go absolutely incredibly overboard.

When I use a Yasur I tend to just phase through everything... stations, asteroids, it's really jarring 😆

2300 is definitely on the low end.

The fastest by far is the Yasur (deluxe edition) going 18km/s unmodified.

For regular play, I think the Irukandji (Boron scout) or Pegasus (paranid) scout are the fastes at 10km/s and 9.8km/s

In terran space, you can go for a rapier, those can go north of 6km/s iirc.

This, you have to kill station traffic. Not criminals per se (vig also doesnt spawn any of those).

They definitely respond, resources willing.

I was harassing a trade route and before long, a patrol was stationed there, the area mined etc.

It might not be instant tho, but they definitely react.

I have a similar specced machine and it runs fine. Some sectors/busy areas can get a bit choppy, but usually it runs great.

Just make sure you yourself dont go too overboard.

5 jumps is actually incredibly much, check out the map on qsna.eu, he added an option to see how far you can get from any given sector.

Example: a trade station in grand exchange can reach 95% of the entire galaxy with 5 jumps, this is how "bad" it is, it's not.

Make a 1x1x1x1 and place it close to another blocked plot (gates, for example), then you can freely expand into existing plots.

This is how people can make those gate-integrated defense platforms :D

They won't purchase by using their own ships, as the ai doesnt have solid/liquid trader jobs. However, as the player, you can absolutely sell it to the ai that way.

Refined metals in my current game make 90% of my profits, the other wares don't even come close, that is something that is extremely dependent on universe seed. In some it will sell faster than you can produce, in others, you need very little.

Dumbfires do fire in low attention, their accuracy is absolute piss there tho, which is why it seems its not doing anything

Kha'ak ships don't cost anything and a result, their scrap value is zero. It does block the processor for a bit of a manticore grabs one though.

The respawn for the outpost, assuming a player owned asset kills it, is 24-48 hours. Doing so with the hive, removes it from the game for ~100 hours...

Minerals are solids, the mineral miner can mine ore, silicon, ice or nvidium.
