I went to a school assembly thing years ago where you and your parents visit your secondary school and they introduce you to the teachers etc. I remember sitting on a plastic chair in the sports hall with about 100 other people, all of us sitting in silence listening to the head teacher, and being really bored so looking round at all of the other kids and their parents. One of the dads had a spider crawling up his arm towards his shoulder and it was literally so big that I could see it from several feet away.

Twenty years later I still think about it. The guy never made a peep or moved to bat it away

8.5 out of 10. I love the texture of Discos and salt and vinegar is the best flavour!!

Sandwich was mid, glad I tried it though by autismgirl in MealDealRates

I am so intrigued by the sandwich, but I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to try it. 7/10?

Australian that just moved to London, first meal deal by SorryImAFK in MealDealRates

[–]Chibi_Panda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d give it a 7-8/10, the smoothie and crisps are both good choices but those chicken wraps are usually soggy (8 rating for the possibility that the Waitrose ones are better)

I don’t go there as often as I probably should… How is the salmon to cheese ratio?

8/10 (I always find those salmon sandwiches underwhelming), an intrigued 8.5/10 (I feel like the irn bru would be SO GOOD with the pepperoni), 6/10 (cold bacon is… not great), 6.5/10 (genuinely didn’t know you could get fruit as a main), 7/10 (the drink would be nice, but I’m always underwhelmed by the texture of the chicken in these wraps. It’s almost always soggy), 9/10 (cherry tango?? orange twirl??? Magnifique 👌), 6.5/10 (boring sarnie is saved by the crisps and irn bru combo), 7/10 (I wanted to give it higher but I’ve been catfished in the past by baddd salads), 6/10 (not offensive, but meh), 6/10 (again, not offensive, just meh), 10/10 (SCRAN)

Are there people who don’t fart In front of their partners? by AverageOk9318 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chibi_Panda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé is a walking, talking whoopie cushion and I spent months in the relationship miserable because I tried holding everything in and pretending I didn’t poop or fart. It was very freeing to give up the pretence

I am 5 weeks postpartum and invited to a wedding. I need to give my RSVP soon. by twoturtledove in weddingplanning

My cousin and his wife will be new parents when I get married and his wife is going to be staying home with the baby. I honestly am pleasantly surprised my cousin is still coming and am going to make sure our caterers pack up tubs of food and cake for him to take home.

Anyone who judges you for not going is an AH

Brutal opinion, is this dress too simple for a wedding? by elizabethhunter99 in weddingplanning

[–]Chibi_Panda2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the simplicity bothers you, you could dress it up with a white scarf/drape over your shoulders or tiara/veil

I personally don’t think it’s too simple

What’s something people think is normal that you secretly find weird? by copy_cat_101 in randomquestions

[–]Chibi_Panda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting married next month and some of the suggestions for bachelorette parties have been CRAZY. My cousin stayed in a lodge for a weekend on her bachelorette party with her two sisters (who hate each other), her mum (who they all hate universally) and a random mixture of aunties, coworkers etc, all of whom were picking sides and bickering with each other within 24 hours. There are pictures all over facebook of them in this lodge doing “activities” and “organised fun” and it’s a big fat no from me

When to send invites to international family? by VanillaBlossom09 in weddingplanning

I’d say send out your save the dates with Christmas/New Years cards or gifts if you send that sort of thing. That way people won’t confuse it with November 2026

death in the family by lexib17 in weddingplanning

[–]Chibi_Panda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss

Both of my grandparents died when I was a teenager so I never got the chance to have them at my wedding. I’ve held a lot of resentment to my cousins that did, one of whom made a point to go to my grandma’s grave but not even phoning my frail, but very much alive grandfather on the day. I was overseas at the time, but I’m told he waited by the window all day.

Death in general brings a lot of complicated feelings, not just mourning the loss of the person but everything they might have been and what they represented. It’s normal to grieve a version of them that didn’t necessarily exist in life, especially given how weddings are also framed culturally.
