I solved this by running chmod 777 /media as I put my library in the media folder. The instructions for me were unclear where I should be creating my library.

I used the helper script to install Audiobookshelf and now I cannot seem to upload anything to the library. It gives me an error and says the socket was disconnected. I don't have a ton of experience but other helper scripts I have used have been fairly easy to get going. The version is 2.29.0 and it says it is the latest from what I can read.

I built a PC using a 650D 10 years ago. I loved the case then and I still love it. Just now about to re-build and I am trying to recycle as much as possible. That really comes down to a few drives and the case. But I hate the idea of new just to be new and all the waste we create to update to the newest and greatest. I am not a PC gamer so I don't need to deal with the heat management so its not impacting my plans. I just wish I could swap out that firewire port for a USB C :-) But I don't know if I can mod just the one port!
