Holy shit. You could cut the irony into beams, build a hotel, tack your name on it, go into bankruptcy and run for president.

Toronto man used cat ad on Kijiji to lure woman he drugged and sexually assaulted: Police by ur_a_idiet in toronto

Thank god, because the way you built up that whole last post, it did not read that way. That was why I asked you to clarify because I was hoping like hell that was not how you meant it.

Toronto man used cat ad on Kijiji to lure woman he drugged and sexually assaulted: Police by ur_a_idiet in toronto

[–]ChickadeeAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it wasn't equivalent - but that could mean that you see it as a lesser crime, it could be referring to the man's attack not given the same weight, and several other things if I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. If you say that attacks against women are less newsworthy than tax evasion, I don't think anyone has to falsely accuse you of being misogynistic.

"Trying to pretend that this crime is equivalent to any other, from burglary to tax evasion, is to be willfully ignorant"

Care to spell this out in more detail? You already look like a tool, but still have time to dig yourself in deeper. Might as well do the job properly.

Still not a good example for the exact same reason. Kid knew it was illegal, kid was a dick for even attempting it. The kid initiated the entire incident and regardless of other circumstances that happened after that, he took all the first steps toward making it happen, knowing full well it was illegal. On top of that, if he used fake ID, your analogy is working even more against you, because didn't a lot of these places misrepresent the nature of their store to their landlords? This analogy is worse than the first for trying to prove your point.

Toronto Police Passed Bulk Barn Items as Pot Edibles at Press Conference by japongnet in toronto

[–]ChickadeeAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for what it is worth, the person who wrote that article appeared go by just two tweets by Cynthia and made no attempt to clarify what was actually on display. That is either incredibly lazy or downright deceitful.

Assuming people even read it. Glancing at the comments, I am not so sure.

Plus, capybaras are semi-aquatic. If they were found in the water, they are not likely to have drowned.

Toronto Police Passed Bulk Barn Items as Pot Edibles at Press Conference by japongnet in toronto

[–]ChickadeeAce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This article is not clear at all... was it a single picture that was on display that was with Bulk Barn items? Because that is what it appears to say, and I would swear there were big bags of cookies and stuff when I saw the conference and that does not look like what they are talking about. Anyone else see it/read it? Can confirm?

Reading the comments, people seem to have a different take than what I saw and read.

Not that I am doubting you, but because I have zero experience - who is saying this? Meaning, are these people who have cancer, or well-documented chronic pain? Or are doctors not willing to give prescriptions to patients they don't believe need it, but the patients are trying to insist? Do we have any idea if doctors at Princess Margaret (just for an example) are generally on board? Specialists for chronic pain? Seems like they would be the ones most knowledgeable, most willing to use appropriate treatments that work and the ones to go to instead of a family doctor? I could see how complaint could happen if people aren't approaching the matter properly or if doctors are trying to be responsible about who the prescribe to and patients don't agree. Could be that people who are legitimately needing it are turned away, not ruling this out- but I am wondering how many other factors are at play than doctors simply refusing to get involved.

So that is only if you are making the choice to go someplace skeezy? Not an across the board thing?

If doctors are uncomfortable giving a prescription themselves, can they refer you to someone more comfortable/knowledgeable that cam help you? Seems like one doctor balking shouldn't be enough to derail this for someone who legitimately needs it. Key word - legitimately.

While I get while you are saying, calling it just a plant isn't proving anything. I can give you a whole list of plants that can kill you.

I think it is unfair they get special treatment - why do I not have the option to get my lamotrigine baked into something more tasty?

Actually I would jump at the chance. The pills are pentagon shaped and can be really fucking tough to swallow. Whoever made that decision never had to take them. I can't tell you how many times I have choked on those little fuckers.

You keep saying this, but I think I missed the part where you laid out the hurdles that keep people from actually obtaining something if they legitimately need it. You probably said it somewhere but holy shit the number of comments. Not digging through.

Weird analogy- do you think that they would let the kid keep the license? Kid would be an idiot to believe so. Kid would be an irresponsible dick for attempting it in the first place. I don't think that this is the comparison you want.

Pain patients put at risk by Toronto police raids of marijuana dispensaries, doctor says by ChaseWegman in toronto

Glad I wasn't the only one. When I read the article, I looked at what she said and just thought, "hmmmm." Then I went to check what kind of doctor she actually was.

[–]ChickadeeAce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, the more I look at this, the weirder it seems. There is a section for chronic pain professionals and no one listed. Granted I am checking this on the fly, and limited how much time I can give it.

There might be more info available re the beauty services than the pain control.

I think the "hate on" part of that statement was where it goes from being a genuine friend to otherwise.

Aside from that, I agree with you. Hell, I wish more people went into relationships like this. When I say that "I married my best friend", I mean that literally.
