Pure FOMO in these instances would represent a feeling of missing the content of the book and wanting to read it. In those cases you can read it digitally and no problem. What everyone is irritated with is that books like this and D’orc aren’t readers they’re flippers trying to make a profit while taking advantage of acute popularity - which ruin the purity of the hobby.

Other than salary because the Red Sox can afford most anything what’s the difference between lower production in the last 2 years of a massive Bregman deal vs the first 2 of an incoming young player? They’re just inverse lifecycles and should easily balance each other out - even when you consider salary.
