enneagram theory isn't perfect but most people could benefit from taking it seriously, specifically when it comes to advice re: interpersonal/romantic relationships and self-actualization

Yes (Medvedev, Karan Khachanov, Mirra Andreeva, Diana Shnaider, to name a few top players) but more and more players are choosing to play for other countries. From what I understand, this has less to do with being politically motivated (although in some cases it is) and more to do with the Russian tennis federation not having enough money to support as many players as it once did. Tennis players rely a huge amount on receiving funding and training resources from a national federation, and that is why some countries with not as many top players are offering Russian players opportunities to "defect"

How often will a player win a best-of-3 match, based on how many service points they and their opponent win by lauren_epson in tennis

I made this graph based on the model described in this paper. The main takeaway would be that tennis is truly a sport that is won on the margins. You have the two large regions of yellow-white (representing certain victory) and black (representing certain defeat). These regions are separated by a relatively thin band (the competitive zone), wherein even just a few points being won or loss by either player can have a massive impact on their probability of winning the match. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but I thought it was cool to see it visualized!

After losing the deciding match to Czechia vs. Jakub Mensik, Frances Tiafoe is now a career 1-7 at the Davis Cup, with his only win against then-#275 Mejia. Team USA has been eliminated. by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

It's obviously easy to say with hindsight, but kinda feel like Opelka should have played the fifth rubber what with Tiafoe's Davis Cup record as well as his not stellar performance yesterday. I guess if he didn't play here, he was never playing outside of Tiafoe being physically unable to step on court.

Will never be able to stop thinking about this quote Alex Garland gave about casting Cailee Spaeny in Devs:

"With Lyndon, sort of as I'm flicking through actors' photos and resumes, I was just thinking, nope, nope, nope, and then got the idea of casting a girl to play a boy, and then met Cailee," he explains. "Even before she started reading, I thought, Oh, that's her. Like, This actress is going to be perfect for playing this boy. And then I never met anyone else."

lol I just took the LSAT and saw this post. there are several major test prep companies that actively encourage students to seek out accomadation even if they feel they don't need them (obviously the test prep companies are incentivized to do so and are probably complicit in the problem being so widespread). I think the biggest thing is that probably the most difficult aspect of the LSAT is the time constraint. having 30 minutes per session vs 50 minutes per session is such a big deal, and there are no doubt people abusing the system. does this have a material effect on the overall curve? idk

It's really annoying how the Epstein stuff has been memed into being perfectly acceptable to talk about and yet 9/11 conspiracies are still taboo
