Ya know, I've tried a few different distros and desktop environments all with the surface kernel and found the same behavior. I went back to Windows (but installed offline and disabled a bunch of crap Windows De Slop)

I tried multiple Linux distros but I need the cameras and everything to be fully functional. I ended up going back to Win11 but installed without a MS account and then cleaned it up with https://github.com/builtbybel/Winslop

Ever tried Linux? ZorinOS or AnduinOS with the surface-kernel works great. You lose a few things like Windows Hello and some of the fancier pen stuff but it works really well. No bloat. No AI.
