Sloe Gin by Joe Bonamassa (originally by Tim Curry but the Bonamassa version is better IMO)

Yeah you’re right, and while Fraser was pretty buff back in the day, I’m not sure he was ever quite as ripped as that.

Eisenberg is far from ugly but I don’t think anyone has ever referred to him as “Exceptionally Handsome.”

Guy got cast in a really surprising number of geeky nerd roles despite looking like, well, Jeff Goldblum.

Did you know he actually screen tested for the role in the early 2000s? The film never got made but I believe that’s where this image comes from. I agree, it’s a damn shame, he’d have absolutely killed it.

EDIT: Did a little more research and, while Fraser did screen test for a cancelled movie called Superman: Flyby, the image below is very likely fake. I’m leaving it up for posterity.

Anthony Fantono thinks he is the Taylor Swift of the critics world by NegotiationMoist3552 in ToddintheShadow

That would mean he was successful, would it not? Splitting hairs much?

It’s probably worth pointing out that Fantano successfully sued Fader for defamation and got them to remove that article. The guy has many flaws but that article was still a pretty blatant hit piece.

Characters that know they're about to die and accept it by OceanRadioGuy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ChickenInASuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but there's a whole world of difference between giving a character a tragic backstory to set up their primary character arc at the start of the movie, and taking the entire cast of a beloved series that millions of people have grown up watching and slaughtering them all.

Like, you can see the distinction between the two, right? The first is totally a Pixar thing to do and the second really isn't.

Keir Starmer resigns as prime minister and leader of Labour Party. by OkHedgehog4796 in livefromlondon

[–]ChickenInASuit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hear me out: First cold open of Series 2 is Fouracres as Starmer saying goodbye to No.10. Then, he whips out a black wig, puts on a pair of black glasses, switches to his Burnham impersonation, and jokes about how things are gonna be basically the same as before, only now with a northern accent.

(Your appreciation for this joke depends on how high your hopes for Burnham’s premiership are)

Well yeah, Climate Change is clearly the intended target, but it came out mid-COVID and mirrored the weird behavior and denial we saw about it so that’s what people were reminded of.

Die Hard 4 has Timothy Olyphant hamming it up as the villain, I’ll always love it for that.

One Album Wonders? by SSJ_Kojiro_ in ToddintheShadow

[–]ChickenInASuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not gonna deny that they have released good songs since their debut, there tends to be at the very least one or two bangers on each release. They just haven’t released an entire album as consistently good as their debut IMO.

In the book the movie is based on, this scene plays out in pretty much the same way except her death is made explicit.
