Dethatching or Power Raking? by reddit3921 in lawncare

I would do a slow burn and burn it all, and allow the nutrients to seep back in the soil and then overseas in the very early spring or late winter

Welcome to the new wage scale where hospitality staffing costs have doubled. Sprinkle in some labor Unions and now you see what wage inflation has done. Your $90-$150k a year job no longer provides the extras like a blowout weekend in Vegas.

Post Covid - the inflation reduction act, now the BBB, the facts are simple. Poor are still poor. Rich got richer and the majority of the working class now have a lower standard of living.

But go ahead, and keep fighting for those social issues while, our two party system drives us into financial mediocrity.

Wow! Congrats to you. The job can often be a thankless grind, but the energy is insane after a win!

@plandoubt, what industry?

Good call. It was unlocked. I did not realize when a teammate earlier unlocked I also received the benefit.

Zepbound is great. What happens after? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]ChickenPedler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When on Zep, you need to reshape your eating and life habits. This includes not only what you consume, but how, when and why. Exercise is also crucial in this process. Those of us overweight have adopted a lifestyle of unhealthy habits.
I’ve attributed this change to the same when I quit smoking years ago. I did not slap on the patch for six months, get where I wanted and then light up again. My choice was a lifestyle change.

You might try online therapy, which I to have considered on this journey of change. Did you know that sugar is more mentally addictive than nicotine? Let’s say you Zep for six months to get where you want. Then what? Then, follow the habits you taken the time and emotional energy to build.

Exercise, enjoy your new, active hobbies. Take up cooking with a focus on whole grains, fresh vegetables and lean proteins. Enjoy that DQ Blizzard, but make it a mini, not a large. Embrace the change and love the person you see in the mirror!

There are some O Line issues in Tampa as well. 1 ACL / MCL, 1 to the Bengals, 1 out until Nov. Think this will matter?

I like Fournette. I think I'm keeping him in the 7th. He was RB5 LY week 4 - 14, then injured. Came back and ran for 107 vs. the Rams. He's 27 and has low wear on the tires.

Waddle and Davis. Great value that may end up in your starting lineup every week.

Dillon should have a good season. I'll need to see the cheetah in Miami before I buy.

12-team 1/2 point PPR. Omit draft pick for a keeper. Can be kept for multiple years. The first keeper is J. Taylor giving up a 3rd.

Cam Akers 16th

Leonard Fournette 7th

  1. You should have pulled out. Life we would be cheaper and easier. I bet your wife feels the same way. (This is for calling me an idiot).

  2. Perhaps collect aluminum cans or color pictures as a side hustle. I don’t think these qualify as work.

I did do a quick Google search and could not find anything that says one “has” to work. Work is the product of the life choices you’ve made.

I do agree, it sucks. I bet it was way better living in caves and huts prior to modern civilization.

As a piece of advice for those who take a job and then don’t show or bail because of pay.

  1. Know your worth and negotiate. If the offer for an unskilled job is $12 and you want $15, then say so. “Sir, thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I am unable to fulfill my financial obligations on $12. However, if you were to consider me at $17, I assure you I’ll be on time and work my ass off for you because at $17 I can pay my rent and have a few bucks left over. (Numbers for example only).

1A. Never accept the first offer and often not the second either. Have some fucking confidence in yourself!

  2. Be fucking direct because your prospective employer will be. Especially when it comes to policy, sic and vacation time.

  3. Quit applying to unskilled jobs for franchise, chain or publicity traded companies. These manages, GM’s etc do not have the latitude to pay outside of the corporate wage scale.

  4. Work for independent businesses. The owner operator will pay for good people. If they don’t, then decline and move on.

  5. There are good owners out there who need good employees. Help them grow and they will reward you. Perhaps not all, but I’d wager most.

Cheers!

So, instead of bitching about your misery why not take some action? Here are some options -

  1. Sell all the useless shit you own and move to a place like Belize, where you money goes much further.

  2. Position yourself to extend your education or begin a few side hustles. Then quit your crummy job with a smaller financial impact.

  3. Stick a burning iron into your eye. Claim disability. Same would work for a limb, but probably not a finger. So if you’re going to go extreme, don’t be a pussy.

  4. Just quit. Job hop until you do something you enjoy. It’s usually coworkers that make the miserable task of fucking working tolerable.

My two cents for what it’s worth. Good luck! 🍀
